The “Hôtel Elite” is located in a recently renovated building, located in the center of Sion within walking distance of the historic city center and supermarkets, shops and other public services.
The strategic location (a few minutes walk from the train station and a few tens of meters from one of the stops of the public transport service) as well as the presence of a good restaurant are, without doubt, the strengths of "Hôtel Elite" that welcomes its guests in spartan and small rooms (although comparable to any other hotel of the same category), quiet and comfortable.
Special mention for the exquisite kindness and helpfulness of the staff who never back down when it becomes necessary to meet the requests (even the most disparate) of customers.
However, to definitely improve is the cleanliness of the rooms (beware of sheets that have stains and the daily cleaning of the rooms themselves).

Hotel located in a very convenient central location, just a few minutes from the train and post bus stations. Contiguous to both the historic center and the more modern part of the city. Welcoming, kind and helpful staff available to offer information and valid suggestions. Very clean and tastefully furnished rooms, as well as functional. The only flaw: the radiator in the room was noisy, starting when it was turned on very early in the morning (annoying and continuous ticking as the water passed through the pipes - room 51).

Generally three star hotels in Switzerland are good. At this price you will have difficulties in finding this standard in other European countries. The hotel is located at the modern quarter of Sion but the old town is about 4 minutes on foot. The room is modest but clean and practically designed.

Very small room, unbearable heat and no air conditioning (we couldn't sleep even with the window open), obnoxious staff who would rather stay drinking on the terrace with their friends than solve our problem with the safe not working. Unimaginable that this type of hotel still exists. To avoid

Our room reeked of smoke (the previous guest had smoked inside for 3 days, without the staff reacting). All our belongings were soaked in the smell and we had to sleep with the windows open in 2 degree weather. Management refused to make a financial gesture.
To top it off, one of the three beds was actually an uncomfortable sofa bed and there were very questionable stains on the cushions of the other two beds.

Very friendly staff and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Good shower and working desk with excellent WIFI connection. Breakfast buffet is very good and starts already at 6.30Hr. It is a 5 minute walk from the train station and bus station for all regional buses.

The staff is very nice, but if there is a problem with your room, you may be charged for the cost of fixing it, no matter what you have or haven't done.
I have never been treated in such a shameful manner by any hotel anywhere, and I have visited dozens. The owner of the hotel had the audacity of accusing me of causing a problem (blocked toilet) which I had reported to him myself. He ignored my explanations that I had nothing to do with it and demanded that I pay for the cost of a plumber, although I was the one to suffer from that very unpleasant inconvenience and had to move to another room.
Be warned: as long as there is no problem you might believe that everything in the hotel is OK, but as soon as the owner needs to take responsibility for fixing something, apparently he prefers to choose an easier way: to charge his customer.

We stayed 5 nights in Hotel Elite, which was chosen for us by the organizers of a Conference we were attending near Sion. This hotel is located just 5 minutes from the railway station - walk up the Avenue de la Gare to the Manor Shopping Mall and then turn right into Av du Midi.
For a 2-star hotel it has all the essentials, no extras. Our room, No. 31, which had a balcony overlooking the snow capped mountains that encircle Sion, was big enough with a desk-table and two simple chairs, wardrobe, small bedside fittings and lamps, one small table. The bathroom was tiny, one of those plastic units you would expect to find in a mobile home. For a large person this would be inconvenient.
We brought our own travel kettle. There were 4 power outlets in the room allowing us to charge tablets and phones simultaneously.
Continental breakfast had a limited choice: tinned fruit, yoghurts, apples and oranges, 2 cereals, 3-4 bread choices, cheese, pressed ham, croissants, honey, boiled eggs, coffee or tea. No hot food.
The building was quite modern and was spotlessly clean. Elevator just held 3 people. This 5-storey building has some private parking at the rear and local bus services stop close by. The restaurant functions from 18.30h to 21.30h. Prices there seemed expensive, but there were loads of options nearby. We found a Mexican tapas restaurant on the Avenue de la Gare which suited us fine.
Hotel Elite provides a good free Wi-Fi connection in the small lobby area, which also extends into the dining area. There is no Wi-Fi in the bedrooms. The TV had many channels including BBC World Service.
Staff were efficient and helpful. They provide an access pin for those returning after 11 p.m.
Some of the participants at our Conference stayed at more expensive 3-star hotels, Rhone and Castel, and they told us they were very pleased with their choice, which included Wi-Fi in the bedrooms.

Really simple room, 2 uncomfortable single beds passed off as a double, (always enfuriates us). Breakfast looked like it had been sat there for a couple of days and waited 10 minutes to get a coffee. For 130 bucks you can find better, even if it is Switzerland

The hotel is great for a short stay or if your are going for business. The rooms are nicely renewed, specious, luminous and cleaned. The location is just very central 5-10 min walk to the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The wifi is free so that's always a big plus!
