Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were meeting with family in St. Moritz & were very happy staying at this quaint B&B. Pros: Chalet Speciale is 2 blocks behind the main Celerina Train Station & Celerina is only one train stop (of 2-6 minutes depending on the speed of the train) from St. Moritz. So for us, this was a very convenient location. All the Celerina gondolas are also within 5 minute walk from it. Staff were all very freindly. They speak English & Italian well. Breakfast costs CHF 10/person & has a nice choice of breads, cold cut meats, cereals, yogurt, juice, milk, coffee, tea, etc. There are also 2 Red Setter dogs who seem to belong to the B&B. They are very friendly & enjoy being petted. Since we have a pet ourselves, we felt that this was a plus. We had a quadruple room on the top (3rd floor) with a private bathroom. It had a double bed & a bunk bed. All the beds were comfortable. We also had a small balcony that overlooked the front lawn. The shower in the bathroom is a stand up shower. Hot water took time to reach the 3rd floor, but there is hot water & we had very nice warm showers --- which felt great after a day of summer hiking. Our room was very clean. And the staff allowed us to store our things with them before our room was ready so we could go hiking without all our luggage. The chalet has a small public recreation room with toys, books, TV, table, chairs & sofa. Outside they have lots of picnic tables & a Ping-Pong Table complete with paddles & balls. The chalet was also quite safe. We forgot to lock our door when we went out for dinner. When we came back, we found our door slightly ajar, but we still had everything. Cons: Curtains are light & don't block the morning sunlight much. But there are 2 shutters which you can close to help block the light. Only the glass on the door to the balcony did not have a shutter. If I ever need to be in St. Moritz again, I would stay at Chalet Speciale again & bring something to block the light coming from the glass on the upper half of the door. This place can get noisy depending on the number of guests because the wooden floors creak from time to time. We were not bothered by noise this time, but I would bring ear plugs. Lastly, note that this chalet does NOT have an elevator. For us that was fine because we each only had one small to medium backpack. Tip: Room 11 was great with a nice view of their front lawn area. The room also had lots of electrical plugs for charging devices. Plugs were located by the door, in the bathroom & low on the wall near the bunk bed. Bring your own towels & save CHF 3/person towel charge. Chalet Speciale is a spectacular deal for families for the St. Moritz area. It is a basic B&B with a lot of charm & very friendly staff. We look forward to going there again.

The room is like a small wooden cabin but very functional with the view of the alps from the wooden windows. I recommend to go for one with private shower and toilet. Although very small and space is limited it is a nice experience to sleep surrounded with the alps. It is close to St Moritz where you may park in Via Maistra close to the leaning tower of st moritz I didn t like the fact that the hotel debited my card before I arrived. My card is in Euro and the payment was charged in CHF. I wanted to pay cash in CHF to avoid heavy tariffed exchange rate. The hotel should only be allowed to charge room rate if you do not show up at the end of the stay, giving client the option to decide how to pay. Parking of hotel is limited and is also used by the ski school clients. We were lucky to find a parking when we arrived in the afternoon, since one of the skiers was going away. Breakfast although it has toast does not include at least chesse and/or ham but only jams and sweets. However the yogurt was extra good. When we went down to book for dinner at 5.30 the restaurant staff was not there. When we tried to book again at 7.30 pm they told us it was fully booked and did not even try to fit us in even though we were residents of the hotel. It seems the hotel and the restaurant are run by separate managment. We then ate an excellent meal at Hotel Chesa Rosatsch in centre .

I stayed here many times and it has been always nice. Rooms are comfortable but the complete wood produces too much noise according to my opinion. Beds are fantastic. The cooking is good and also the staff is kind and warm!

I went to Celerina for a reunion as I lived there ages ago. The accommodation was booked by my sister and seriously, I was not happy about it. I understand that hotels in this region are expensive but paying more would not have bothered me. As I understand, we still paid enough for Chesa Speciale so I was disappointed and obviously, happy to leave after one night. First of all, the room is very basic with bunk beds. That may be ok for children but I am an adult. First of all I do not like to share a room with someone unless it is my wife, secondly I need some comfort. I find climbing on the top bunk not comfortable. The bathroom was a shared one on the floor and I found it a bit scary and I really had to focus in order not to think who stepped into the shower before me. It is just one of these things. We did not have breakfast so I can not comment on that. On arrival, the guy who welcomed us was one of these mountain cool guys, a little bit too relaxed in my opinion and the smell of booze (he was entertaining) was not appreciated by my sister either. When coming back, the door was closed even though they said it would be opened. So I returned to where the reunion took place and got my sister for some help. You can call a number but no one answered the call. When back with my sister, she managed to reach someone and luckily she spoke Italian as no German, French or English. The guy came out and was a bit rude as the door was not closed, it just needs a serious push.....a violent one which obviously we did not know and try in order not to wake up the other people. I did not like being stuck outside for 2 hours at -15 degrees. Anyway, I normally see things positive but this place gave me the creeps.

Ok the good things first, really friendly and helpful staff. Clean room, nice breakfast and close to the station. But so cold at the toilets, just one power socket in the room, the beds were not good at all, when you were sleeping in the upper bunk bed it felt like you were gonna fall down to the one below.

We were their first guests for the season. Pietro, who runs the place, was very hospitable and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to drive us to St Moritz for dinner and recommend restaurants there. Next morning he was just a phone call away when we needed to catch the 5am train in the dark and rainy weather. Would definitely stay here again and try their skiing school as well.

We booked 3 beds in a 4 beds room for 120€. Later i asked on telephone how mutch would be the charge for extra aduld and a 4 years old children. ON TELEPHONE they told me 50€ for the adult and free for the children. AS WE ARRIVED the 50€ become 130€. They told us they made a mistake on telephone and they could do nothing about it, except not charging us of the extra breakfast for the 4° adult and the children. Here it is the picture of the breakfast they offered not only to the "130€ bed" but to all the guests. That's sad. Even more, cause people in there, are really nice.

This is a ski school that also accommodates tourists when they have place. The place is very friendly and is perfectly located if you plan to ski in the St Moritz system. The Celerina Marguns ski lift is just a few blocks away. Equally close to the railway station. The hostel have dorm type rooms with bunk beds. Rooms are only equipped with beds, in best case an electric power outlet, a lamp and... well that's about it. But the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. They serve a good but quite basic breakfast. If you want a fairly cheap accommodation in the expensive St Moritz area, and you are there to spend your money on skiing - this is a very good choice.
