We visited this place for just three days in the month of April and our experience was good. Hotel is equipped with everything that is needed for a luxurious stay. Beautiful rooms, comfortable bed, great washroom, pleasing staff, delicious food and awesome coffee, was all enough for a lovely stay. Our stay was short, but lovely. I will definitely recommend... Stayed in the Alpina for 3 nights in February 2013. The hotel is a very old house, and you can feel its age. Though the rooms have been renovated, the hotel lacks an overall consistency in its style (genuinely renovated vs. modern features). The appreance of the rooms is rather simple (laminat not wooden floor, shower curtains not glass). The... More

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times over the last couple years. As stated in another review, the owner is not overly effusive, but we find that the case with most Swiss hotels - management is more interested in efficiency than "schmoozing" with guests. The gentleman did give us lovely 2-room suites with beautiful views each time we were... More

We stayed at this hotel. The photos of the rooms promised a lot over the hotel's website and also other websites. The room we got though was very small on the first floor, small and dark. The room wasn't really clean, meaning dust everywhere (also on the phone). In the other hand, breakfast had a pretty big selection. Still: the... More

Well, I have to agree with the previous reviewer that the owner is a bit serious (didn't know the previous owner) but we had a great time at the Alpina. We stayed half-board which was good value for here or anywhere else at extra CHF35/ night for dinner. Serving staff were always polite and by the end were more relaxed... More

Stayed at the Hotel Alpina for 1 week at the beginning of March. This hotel was owned by Hans Ebherard who sold it to Jan Lendfers in 2007. Stayed at the hotel many times over 28 years while Hans ran the hotel. He was full of life and generous and created a wonderful happy atmosphere in the hotel and this... More
