The hotel Wengener Hof in car-free Wengen is surrounded by the impressive mountain world of the Bernese Oberland, right at the foot of the Jungfrau. It is one of the most esteemed hotels in a quiet location with extensive gardens for relaxation during the summer months. This traditional hotel is extremely popular with visitors as it offers a consistently high standard of service (4 stars) and because of its excellent location and pleasant scale (65 beds), the Wengener Hof has for many years provided individual hospitality. Wengen is the ideal starting point for various excursions to the Jungfrau region. To the mountain railway station it only takes 5 minutes - from there you start the amazing journey up to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe - at 3454 meters altitude which is Europe's highest railway station and the highlight of every visit to Switzerland! Within 5 minutes walk you reach in summer the tennis courts and in winter the ski school office and its meeting place as well as the beginners' slope and the ice-rink. With the Mannlichen cable car which is 5 minutes walk away you reach in just a few minutes the Mannlichen mountain which is the perfect starting point for skiing and hiking - with the breathtaking panorama of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.

I stayed here for three nights, it was a wonderful, peaceful haven! The room I was allocated had a balcony and spectacular view of the mountains, and particularly the Jungfrau. It also has beautiful well-attended gardens with loungers etc for enjoying time to relax. The Wengener Hof is about a 10-minute walk up from the village, less back down. Close enough to the station for an easy walk, but far enough away not to have the hustle and bustle and noise. Dining room staff were very attentive, and Giovanni (manager, I think) does everything he can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. And I never saw him without a smile on his face – such a pleasure these days!

A year's absence due to Covid 19 but the Wengener Hof is as good as ever. The hotel is in a quiet location with open views a few minutes walk from the centre. Skiers be relaxed they have use of a ski room in the main street. There is a pick up service from the station. ring as you reach Lauterbrunnen to advise arrival time. Always a warm welcome and returning guests are remembered ,even to favoured table ,Enzo will usually even remember your favourite cocktail! The standard of the food is very good with generous breakfast buffet and excellent dinners. As it is Switzerland cleanliness to a high standard and nice crisp tablecloths. The lounge has an open fire and a good supply of books for guests, Will I return again? Yes

Nice place to enjoy your stay in Wengen. Nice room, beautiful bathroom, friendly staff, good food. Worth mentioning is the free use of the wellness area of the sister hotel Silberhorn, wellness with a view on the mountains. A perfect address for a break in Wengen.

A gorgeous building with some stunning features. Large bedroom, comfortable beds, small sitting area and kettle and fridge. Staff were exemplary, keen to please but with a great sense of humour. Food was good, plenty of it and presented well. Some may say the decor was a little outdated, but to us, this added to the charm.

Beutiful room, amazing views and very friendly staff! We also enjoyed the option of using the sister hotel Silberhorn's spa and Jacuzzi. The food offerings are very high quality though less vegetarian-friendly. All in all would definitely reccomend for a vacation!

This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel, and I was not disappointed. The ,location was within easy reach of town and the railway. This is one of the cleanest, friendliest places I have ever stayed in. So well equipped, the room had everything you could need. Treated myself to the valley view and balcony which was well worth it to sit in the sun in the afternoon and dry the ski wear! The choice of food was fantastic, wonderfully cooked and presented, well done chef! Choices for wines and beers etc. was extensive and well advised by the fabulous Maitre D' - Enzo. The staff were all, without exception, incredibly friendly, efficient and helpful and I was sorry to say goodbye to them. I hope to be returning very soon.

A classic Swiss hotel with excellent staff and in a great location. The double room was spotless and bathroom looked brand new. Massive comfortable beds with nice linen. The food. Dinner was awesome and varied 7 courses one night. The kitchen would accommodate kids as well ie spaghetti bog. Breakfast. Everything on offer. The staff. All really friendly and always ready to help. I would definitely return.

Great location 5(ish) mins walk from the main lift and charming hotel. The team could not have been more helpful or understanding. We have 3 small children and no task was too small. The food was great and Enzo (and his team) are superb. The New Year's dinner was spectacular! Thank you so much. We will be back next year.

Transferred from a different hotel, we had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 3 nights. It is perfect in every way but the help, friendliness and amazing service from the staff is "above and beyond". We had a beautiful corner room with balcony overlooking the mountains. A very well appointed room with everything you could possibly want and a spacious, new bathroom; all super clean and in excellent order. The food was delicious and the waiters and waitresses are superb. I think this is the first occasion that I have been really sad to leave a hotel. Wishing I was still there! Many thanks to all at Wengen Hof Hotel.
