We've just returned from an enjoyable week's ski holiday at the Falken. We particularly liked the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the old-fashioned charm of the public areas. We found the location fairly convenient with virtually ski in/ski out possibilities, although it is quite a steep walk up from the station with ski gear. Our South-facing balcony room was a reasonable...

Well located within Wengen for access to Manlichen it was the atmosphere of this Hotel that made it such a success. Rooms are not large and not modern, but warm and comfortable. Sound suppression is not brilliant but there was something very "home" like about the place that made our stay so enjoyable. On half board breakfast was excellent, an...

Just returned from another week in this unique hotel. We go back year after year for its individuality and charm, great location, friendly staff, comfortable bedroom and public areas and the food is quite acceptable for its 3 star status. Evenings are enhanced by entertainment in the piano bar with impromptu dancing if the mood is right. Great value overall.

If you like your hotels clinical, dull and devoid of life then this is not the place for you. This is an extremely friendly family fun hotel with quirky decor and lots of history. The lobby area is very cozy and when we visited there were jazz pianists playing every night contributing to a buzzing atmosphere. The food is good...

Just arrived home after one week of skiing holiday, at the Hotel Falken in Wengen, Switzerland. Well, what was the positive about the hotel? Ski in/ski out is good. All right bathroom, enough of hot water. The first that meet you outside the hotel is the dog's pooh. The lobby is filled with old and wornout chairs and sofaes. Everybody...

Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Falken. The staff was attentive, friendly and had a wealth of local knowledge. The hotel has been owned by the same family for over 110 years and has a rustic, cozy feel. The location is superb, with great views over Wengen and the surrounding valley. The gondola and train are both just a...

a charming atmospheric hotel with a palpable sense of history -each time you enter the foyer feels like being transported back in time to a more gracious era. Friendly and attentive staff, cosy bar with sense of community -other guests had been visiting regularly for over 20 years. Rooms warm and comfortable with balconies with great views over the picturesque...

A charming old fashioned hotel with excellent friendly staff. Rooms are light and airy with good fresh linen, showers work well with plenty of hot water (crucial after a day's skiing!). Evening meal is a set menu with a limited choice but this is well judged went down very well even with our large group (20+). Very well located in...

This is a fantastic hotel. It is quirky and old-fashioned but marvellous. I think the set evening meal is the best food I've had skiing, at least compared to other set evening meals. The food is fresh and well cooked. There is a slightly 1970s feel - duck/orange - but none the worse for that. The food/ambience is reminiscent of...

The Falken without doubt is a unique hotel; as soon as we stepped through the door we felt at home. We had the most perfect week, the food was excellent, New Year's dinner was outstanding. The rooms are light and airy and clean. We could not recommend it more highly. The only very small issue was a little noise in...
