#15 of 21 hotels in Wengen
A beautiful family-run historical hotel, located in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the scenic car-free village of Wengen. Hotel Falken was built in the year of 1895, in a breathtaking location with a view of the Jungfrau and Lauterbrunnen valley. This historic hotel has been lovingly and hospitably managed from that day to this by the von Allmen – Cova family.

My wife and I returned to the Falken after a Covid forced 3 year delay and were not disappointed. We received a friendly welcome and a refreshing drink on arrival, and were remembered by Jenny a co owner of the hotel; we were allocated the same room and even the same table in the dining room as 2019. Once again the staff were very friendly, especially the three waitresses who always seemed to have a smile on their faces, with a willingness to please the customer at all times. The hotel still has all its charm, but with 21si century efficiency, the fact it has been in the family for so long is evident by the pride shown by the owners, this is more than a business enterprise, it's a labour of love. We love the old style furniture and fittings throughout, such a change from some bland modern hotels. We will definitely return to the Falken, it has just been part of our best ever holiday, and will remain a favourite. If you are looking for originality and tradition with a warm welcome, and a superb location in one of the most beautiful parts of Europe, look no further. If you need all mod cons in your hotel, it may not be for you.

Hotel Falken is a really nice hotel. It's an older hotel with a lot of charm. Alice and Jennie on the front desk were about the nicest, kindest and most helpful people we've met. I can't say enough good things about them. The breakfast was excellent - warm croissants and bread were served every morning. The hotel served a four-course dinner, which we didn't take advantage of, but it was only 35 Francs, and the menu looked good. We chose to eat out of the supermarket instead. We arrived early on check-in day, but they held our luggage while we went to Lauterbrunnen.

Hotel is old which is fine but the inside looks tired and ragged. The room furniture was old and not of a good quality. The floors were very dusty. However, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly (although you felt they had little support or training!)

Our 2nd visit after a gap of 12 years and the magic and the warmth of the place as you step in has not diminished. Jenny and her two girls who served us at breakfast/dinner provided excellent service and were always helpful with our many questions!

I stayed at the hotel over Christmas and New Years and I can honestly say that it was one of the most memorable stays in a long time. The vibe when you enter the hotel is magical, it really feels like you're stepping into a different time. Service was attentive and kind, food is definitely top in the village and the ambiance is really just all-together so warm across the board. Buzzing bar. Ski-in/ski-out. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique experience!

Charming 3* hotel in Wengen, with refurbished rooms from the Belle Epoque. We enjoyed a great stay there. The employees are very kind and a welcome drink is even offered to all guests. Although the entrance and the terrace is very simple, it offers a splendid view over the Jungfrau. The hotel is located at 5mn walk from the train station. It is the perfect place to start a hike or trail to the Kleine Scheidegg (2h45) or Männlichen (2h30) going back by train or cable car. The restaurant is very good with a small but tasty menu (choice between a meat, fish or vegetarian main course). Great souvenir from the cuisine of the 80’s ;-)

Menu dinners: fantastic Personnel: german, english and italian speaking. Very helpful Nice atmosphere in spacious old-fashioned living area, very nice bar personnel Charming old-fashioned rooms, could use some renovating. Bathroom from room 11 was renovated 2 communicating bedrooms for 3-4 (Rooms17-18): bathroom definitely too small and too old for 3 adults

The hotel is beautiful. The food was ok. The one point that dragged down the experience for us was the behaviour of certain staff and guests when it came to mask use in common areas. We came to celebrate new years at the hotel and there was a private party in one part of the hotel (but in the area that had the bar). Inside this room masks where seldom used and the distance wasnt kept, so it was quite uncomfortable to try to order something at the bar (to the point that we skipped it completely). Also when moving around in other parts of the hotel this group didnt always put their mask on. Overall great location and we enjoyed our stay in Wengen but wished that the staff at the hotel had been stricter when it came to keeping everyone safe in these times.

Spent a month traveling Europe. Hotel Falken was so relaxing. The best sleep I had in the whole trip. Everyone was so helpful and the meals were excellent. Am I going back to Wengen? only if there is room at the Falken, if not, I will wait my turn.
