Shame on me for being so slow in reviewing. Just an amazing place. Very convenient location just off the tram. All of the staff were wonderful. Food was excellent; to say there were amazing views while dining is an understatement. Kids loved the pool. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and views from the large terrace we had were almost impossible to believe. Can’t say enough good things.
Can’t think of any negatives. The people who run the hotel and staff can’t do enough for their guests. There’s an indoor pool, restaurant, spa, etc. The train station is right across the street. When we arrived via train the porter was waiting for us to help with our luggage. I was shocked he even knew we arrived! Great first impression. The whole atmosphere is upbeat. Our room was spacious with incredible view of mountains. Would return eagerly.
Lovely small, expensive hotel with indoor/outdoor dining, pool, spa, & almost reach-out-and-touch-them mountain views. Buffet breakfast included. Perhaps because we were repeat guests, we received an upgrade to a roomy junior suite on a high floor with balcony & terrific view. I stress *high floor* as some of the lower floors may provide more of a view of the low-rise train station across the street than you'd like. Murren is a get-away destination with easy access to the Shilthorn peak & rural Gimmelwald from a lift at the other end of town a few blocks away. The hotel is almost perfect & would have received 5 circles from us except for 2 things: ( 1.) The hotel has made the decision not to require staff or guests to wear masks during the COVID pandemic (at least during our stay in October 2021). We wore ours anyway. (2.) As a self-proclaimed family hotel, it attracts families with young (i.e. unvaccinated) children -- who haven't necessarily been taught by their parents (or reminded by staff) not to handle every item within reach at the breakfast buffet. While the hotel is very nice & homey, these 2 things made us uncomfortable.…
This was our second visit. & we would not stay anywhere else in Murren. Our only mistake was not staying longer ! Our room was immaculate, had everything we needed, modern bathroom with L’Occitane products. The balcony with breathtaking views was unbelievable Breakfast buffet was great ( just cook your bacon longer !) Dinner was just great , again with staggering Eiger views. My husband enjoyed the pool & spa amenities while I did the Birg thrill walk Thanks to Stahli family & staff for a 5 star ⭐️ experience ! We will return ! Laurie & Doug Paris
The Hotel Eiger is a special place, it's location alone would commend it. It faces the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains and is a cable car ride away from Piz Gloria, a spectacular spot in it's own right. The staff is universally friendly and always helpful. The accommodation are spotless and clearly their efforts to be safe during Covid are serious and appreciated. Murren is a little bit of heaven and the Eiger is the place to stay.
