We stayed four nights at Hotel Eiger in early June 2017, and we are so happy we chose Murren (and Hotel Eiger) over Wengen or Lauterbrunnen. A porter met us at the train station and whisked away our bags to his golf cart; it's a...More
Great room location with view out the window of the Eiger. Centrally located in town with an excellent Resteraunt where we enjoyed a great hamburger one night and traditional swiss fondue the second. Also for the beer lover I had the around Switzerland tour of...More
We visited Hotel Eiger in the fall of 2017 and had an absolutely fabulous experience!
We were welcomed by owner Susanna, who gave us a super helpful rundown of the town of Murren and of the hotel. Susanna was extremely hospitable and helpful and is willing...More
I have been going to Mürren for many years woth my family. Whenever we can we stay at the Eiger - for us it is a crucial part of the Mürren experience. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Although the GBP:CHF exchange rate has...More
We had an amazing experience at the Hotel Eiger! The natural beauty of Mürren is astounding, and was only made better by having a super comfortable and clean hotel to relax in! Our room was recently updated and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the mountains....More

Ditto everyone's comments: do Jungfrau Joch from Grindelwald side, then spend 2 nights at Hotel Eiger/Murren. One comment: if weather is not clear, the trip up to Jungfrau is not worth the time/cost - you need clear skies to enjoy that trip. The trip up to Schilthorn and the Thrill Walk in Birg from Murren is very accessible also. At Hotel Eiger make sure you book w/ the hotel to ensure an Alp view / balcony view to the Alps.
We paid about $350 per night. As to "downtown" - this is a tiny, car free, alpine city reached by train and cable car. The hotel is opposite the train station and on the Main Street. There is basically only one street... More
We paid about $350 per night. As to "downtown" - this is a tiny, car free, alpine city reached by train and cable car. The hotel is opposite the train station and on the Main Street. There is basically only one street. The town has numerous hotels and restaurants on that street. There are hiking trails of varying difficulties surrounding this town and cable car lifts to higher spots.
Yes to both, but the fridge doubles up as the mini-bar. I don't drink alcohol so can't advise of the prices of this. All the booze doesn't leave a lot of room for anything you might wish to keep chilled. On the subject of... More
Yes to both, but the fridge doubles up as the mini-bar. I don't drink alcohol so can't advise of the prices of this. All the booze doesn't leave a lot of room for anything you might wish to keep chilled. On the subject of drinks, you can pick up a kettle at reception. Jars of coffee, teabags, cartons of cold drinks can be purchased at the Coop shop about 300 yards away. For your electricals, be warned that Swiss plug sockets are completely different from UK, but again reception keeps a supply of adaptor plugs you can borrow.
