Decent enough place in a central location in Grindelwald. Emilia couldn’t have been friendlier when amending the booking to add our dog and an extra person, offering a free upgrade to the Jungfrau apartment. It was spacious with a comfortable bed and pullout for the kids. Alas no hot water in the morning so showers were pretty bracing. I asked if we could shower somewhere else but no one came back to us. They sent someone a few hours later by which time the water was hot but it was a bit late by then as the family had left. I mentioned it at checkout when the receptionist asked about the stay. His response that it was working again a few hours later when the came up was somewhat annoying. An apology would have been a more appropriate response.
Terrible place to stay! Booked a weekend trip to relax and could not sleep for 2 nights, as a group of 20 guests were partying, shouting and slamming doors till 4 AM. Called the reception number to complain and they told they would do something, but nothing was done, so I had to call the police. But the worst was yet to happen...On the next day, the hotel employee called Iuri became suddenly really aggressive, acting as a psycho, inquiring us because we had woken him up during the night calling reception and he was not paid to solve those problems, and it is a normal thing to happen when they have groups - instead of arguing with the group responsible for the crazy party that was in front of him at the restaurant...He got to a point that he was calling me for a street fight, completely out of control...Never seen this happen anywhere...GET AWAY from this place...…
Clean, tidy, friendly and helpful staff and a very nice buffet breakfast. We got room upgrades at no extra cost without even asking. The guys doing breakfast do everything possible to make sure you have a good start to the day. Switzerland has three pronged sockets instead of the EU two pronged ones, but just ask at reception and they will happily provide you with a plug for your stay. Bus stop for skiers is at the front door.
We have visited Grindelwald and we have been staying in this hotel in January 2022. Amazing staff, super super friendly, polite and and helpful! We got a free upgrade to a beautiful appartament located behind the hotel. The appartement was super clean and cozy! The sauna was the icing on the cake after a long trip and a long week. The position is a big plus, hotel is located exactly in the centre of Grindelwald. Breakfast was delicious, with local selection of cheese 😊 We appreciated a lot the salted breakfast. A big thank you also to the hotel manager. Professionalism and kindness! Highly recommended! We will be back for sure! Thank you guys again for the kind treatment 😊
Very non-Swiss behaviour… We booked a room sure the breakfast was included. We asked about the breakfast at reception in the evening. We paid for the room the night before, again not being told the breakfast was not included. Not once did they mention that the breakfast was extra, even though they had ample chances to do so. Then right before the check out, the reception opens page 2 of the booking form where in German (on an English form) is written “ohne” and that were were supposed to know without them telling us that this means “without” in German. The breakfast is 15 CHF per person and maybe even worth it. The selection of items was great, including coffees, juice and eggs, and the food was delicious. We are paying hundreds of francs to stay there - no need to try to trick their customers like this as instead of the nice Swiss cheese all we taste now is sour.…
