Not only is the hotel perfectly located, everything had a personal touch from checkin to the room to the service. A family-ran hotel, the breakfast is exactly what you need for a day on the mountain. The spa at the end of the day makes it even better. The atmosphere here made my getaway perfect!

Excellent stay within family room. Service and staff are wonderful, room was large and very clean with very large balcony, breakfast was superb. And the small spa with Finnish sauna and whirlpool was just amazing after a day of skiing. Would definitely go back and recommend.

Dear PekkaT_010 from Switzerland Thank you very much for your positive review, which we are very pleased about. We were even more pleased that you spent your holiday with us. Besides our rich breakfast buffet, you mentioned our wellness oasis. It will be completely renovated and even enlarged for the winter season 21/22. We spent 2 nights in this family hotel and were fully satisfied. Our room ("superior" one) was large enough, well equipped (to the exception of some tea/coffee maker but that is ok at 3 stars level) and comfortable with a small terrace and excellent view. Importantly the bed was very good and the room very quiet. The owner and staff were extremely professional and helpful, the small spa area enjoyable and the breakfast simple but with very good products. Altogether this is a perfectly recommendable address in the center of the village.

Hotel Caprice is very cozy and furnished with much love for details in mountain style, which we were looking for. Although situated in the center of the village Grindelwald, near the railway and bus stations, it is still very quiet. Rooms are recently renovated, our was with a balcony and nice view on the mountains. The rooms, spa and the entire hotel are super tidy. The Spa area is very nice, with a whirl-pool, infrared cabin, sauna and steam bath. There is also a small fitness area. The breakfast was rich, with all variety of foods and drinks. You can be provided with a lunch bag too, if you wish. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and so is the owner and his family that runs the hotel. They patiently answered all our questions at all times. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. BTW - It is preferable to book this hotel directly with the owner, on their web site or by phone, as they guarantee the best prize, incl. free parking.

A great place to spend a few days off far away from routine! Very comfortable beds in a clean&tidy room with a spectacular view to the Eigernordwand (Eiger North Face)! Nice little Wellness place to relax from various outdoor activities and every morning a vast lovely prepared break fast buffet with local bred and cheese! In addition, it is a very quiet place in the middle of Grindelwald just two steps above the train station! We are looking forward to coming back soon! Thank you for your warm-hearted hospitality!!

Alexander and his family are so nice that we were very sad to leave them. We spent 3 nights in their hotel and everything was perfect. Our room was big and great, with beautiful view of the mountains. Their wellness area is also the perfect place to relax after a day hiking the area. The breakfast is rich and they cook you fresh eggs, as you like. Finally, we particularly loved the "daily bulletin" they provide with tips, weather, etc. The hotel is located just few minutes from train station (3 minutes walking) and has lovely view of the area. We couldn't ask for more and we highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay at the end of last summer. There was confusion and problems over the payment of the deposit (our problem). We appreciated the patience whilst we sorted everything out. We loved the apartment, the view was special and the advice on activities in the area was very useful. It is extremely close to the railway station for sightseeing and the parking was good.

As a travel professional for 35 years , I write my trip advisors from a personal view point as well as a professional view. I have been visiting Grindelwald for more than 40 years and always stayed elsewhere but now I have found the Caprice with Alexander and Regula, there will be no other hotel for me We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas 2019, of course after staying at one hotel for so long I was nervous about trying somewhere new. But I need not of worried After a short but steep drive up to the hotel, just behind the post office and railway station you can find a space to park your car, either directly outside or around the side of the hotel. On arrival we where welcomed by Alexander with a warm hello and hearty welcome to the hotel. What I really appreciated was the personal touches that really do go a long way. Alexander personally showed us to our room and even helped my husband with the many bags we seemed to have! The family where often around the hotel, Regula every morning serving and attending to us at breakfast. The children playing. Just so warm and welcoming and at Christmas time nice to see so many visitors too making it all the more special. Alexander explained the room we had was brand new and recently part of the refurnished hotel. It really was fabulous. We had a large seating area with a sofa and chair, with a table. Large double bed, a veranda too with Eiger and Mannlichen views. There was ample storage space too with a wardrobe and hanging space The bathroom was large enough with a large shower and plenty of space to put your toiletries The breakfast was fabulous. Plenty to choose from and met each morning by Regula offering eggs, we opted for scrambled as just so delicious but also had boiled eggs, with bacon. Self-service for rolls, bread and an assortment of meats, cheese, cereals and fruit. Also, a good choice of yoghurts. A wide choice of teas as well as coffees etc cold drinks too. All combined with a fabulous view of the Eiger. The hotel had a spa , small fee which looked great. We simply ran out of time to use it each day. The hotel had a good size ski room, heated so your boots were dry next day. Direct access outside without steps up and down to the boot room. The hotel also had a corner for the kids to play, with toys and games. A corner too with the open fire which was just so welcoming after the cold outside. The walk down to the town was literally five minutes all be it steep, there are several ways down to ease the knee pain 😊 either directly down from the boot room exit, or via the road a little swoop round , also a third way through the paths around the hotel. Yes, they are steep, but it gets easier as the days go on. We wore our ski boots too, so it isn’t that bad. Even after heavy snow it was gritted and not slippy. We really enjoyed everything about this hotel from the cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of everyone we met , despite the lack of Swiss German on our part , everything was magical A Christmas we will not forget , thanks so much for your hospitality Alexander and Regula. As they say , we will be back !

This year we decided to spend the Christmas week together away from the city and hustle and bustle. It was a great decision to stay here. The staff are friendly and prompt. The Hotel is cosy and warm with great hosts! The hotel was so clean everywhere we sat and enjoyed the spa area several times throughout the week. The station is literally 2 mins walk and the main street is also very close. All the trains for the Jungfrau region are easily accessible as well as the 'free' bus ticket to travel locally. When we visit again, we will definitely stay here! I suggest you go to Grindelwald, it is heaven.
