Spent a week here from 16th Feb to 23rd Feb 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Right from the start with email conversations regarding bookings everything was first rate. After travelling all day Benni kindly picked us up from the Banhof. Our room was spotless and had everything you could want with great views from the balcony. Breakfast was very good with fruit, yogurt , eggs ,cheese ,ham, all varieties of bread and an excellent coffee machine. It was also good that the hosts took time to speak to guests during breakfast. I hired skis from Benni and we were able to purchase lift passes from the hotel. Overall a great experience and one we would repeat should we visit the area in the summer time. Thank you for helping us thoroughly enjoy our week in the snow.
Positives. Only Good Views from the hotel that’s it. Negatives ( too many ) 1. Don’t take food along me and my wife are Veg so we get very less options also my wife didn’t have the breakfast and took the banana so that she can have it later but the lady ( owner ) gave a look as if we saw the first banana in our life and rudely said she shall charge for the same. 2. The rooms very extremely small and the bathrooms were 2’x2’ 3. The lady owner use to poke her nose in every thing we did. 4. The owner ( man ) was a greedy fellow and won’t leave a single opportunity take your money. 5. Hotel is too far from the station. And he shall not come to pick u and say he comes only at a particular time. Note. Please leave this HOTEL there are lot more options available in the vicinity.
A better hotel for a hiking-holiday-road-trip with a group of friends has yet to be invented. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and in very safe hands, providing excellent advice and recommendations. The Eiger View rooms are very practically laid-out and boast enormous windows with a world-class view. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with another excellent view from the terrace. The sauna, plunge-tub and relaxation zone were perfect for a small group after a long day. Small touches along the way like a bike-cleaning station and a welcome-pack in the room with eye masks and sweets made us feel thoroughly understood.
You will love this hotel! We stayed in the loft and couldn’t stop staring at the views of the Eiger and the glacier. It’s so close to town and many restaurants. Breakfast is delicious with great coffee and more beautiful views. Our room was so comfortable and cozy. We loved the rain shower and having a bathtub was nice for soaking after long hikes. This is a perfect room for families with 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms (on separate floors) and a sitting area and breakfast area. It’s huge. But it was really fun for just the two of us as well. So many little touches like fresh lavender in the bathroom. Both are very modern. Conny and the rest of the staff we’re so kind and helpful.
I still don't understand why this place is considered a 2 Star Hotel. Our stay here was amazing and was much much better than we expected it to be. Beni, the owner, is an incredibly nice person and was super helpful in giving us recommendations to eat and things to do in the city during our stay. His wife was also extremely nice. The rooms were well kept, the breakfast in the morning was delicious and the view from our room was spectacular. It was also very close to town which was a huge plus. It even came with a free bus pass that lasted the entirety of our stay in Grindelwald. If you're looking for a good place to stay but don't want to spend extravagantly, this is the best place in town.
