Great welcome, hospitality and service. The room was delightful - with balcony and views. Location was brilliant - cable cars nearby, and a bus stop almost outside the front entrance. We particularly liked the very good advice on the best hiking - and, of course, the delicious breakfasts and dinners.

My wife and I loved everything about the Gletschergarten. A classic 100 year-old Swiss chalet hotel, nicely furnished in a traditional, low-key way, and all well-maintained throughout. Our bedroom was well equipped, with windows on two sides, and a good L-shaped balcony. Lovely food - we ate dinner in the hotel every evening in our two-week stay. The girls who...

Gabriela and Gerhard, and their son Lars, attend to their guests with almost incredible warmth and sensitivity. From arrival to departure, one feels welcome to a rare degree. The rooms are chalet-style, beautifully furnished, and the meals are inexpensive and impeccably served. The breads at breakfast come from the bakery opposite and are excellent. The hotel arranges tickets for all...

I stayed here for two nights and cannot recommend it highly enough. This fourth generation hotel is beautiful and charming and the hosts are welcoming and helpful. The included breakfast is delicious and the dinner, which is a set menu that can be reserved if wanted, is deliciously prepared by the French chef who has been with the hotel for...

Spent four wonderful nights at the Gletschergarten Hotel, and cannot speak highly enough of the hospitality shown by the incomparable hosts, Gabriella, Gerhardt and Lars. From being picked up and dropped off at the train station, to the many tips on the local area and incredible four course dinner, the attention to detail and care shown by the hosts was...

Yes it's pricey but you get something for your money! 125 year old chalet hotel, friendly reception by the owners, quiet location off the crowds, big rooms, blazingly fast Internet, good breakfast. They also sell all tickets for trains etc. there. The rooms still ooze the charm of the seventies, for me a trip back memory lane! They even still...

Could the Gletschergarten really be as good as the hundreds of positive reviews on TripAdvisor claimed? Hooray, hooray: the answer is yeah! In June we spent a week in their Eiger apartment, just across the road from the hotel. It was a perfect size for a couple, with comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen (including both cafetière and filter coffee maker), excellent...
