Beautiful views overlooking the Eiger. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant in the evenings was exceptional. The spa and pool were what made this trip! The spa was relaxing, well stocked and regularly cleaned. There were two types of saunas, a steam room, a jacuzzi, an ice bath and a relaxation room inside the spa. There were also treatments available for an additional price; my massage was lovely. The heated infinity pool was stunning and there was an additional lounge room next to it to relax and enjoy the views. The location was also perfect, a walk away from Grindelwald First, the train station and right on the Main Street. Breakfast was continental and there was an omelette station. The small improvements I would recommend would be for the room to have more accessible plug sockets. I would also like there to be more of a variety of drink inside the spa. It could have been because we went in the off season, but the breakfast was not regularly refilled and the variety day to day did not change much, especially for a hot breakfast option. Overall it was a fantastic stay and I would definitely stay here again.…
Magnificent view, nice staff, good food, what else is needed? Breakfast was fine, nothing was missing, i really appreciated the fresh grapefruit juice. They has nice wine, worth to tase. Room was exactly the same as in the pictures. Swiss herbal sampoo, body lotion, hair conditioner was good.
My mom and I have been traveling around Switzerland for a week to celebrate her 47th birthday and her 1st trip outside of the country after Covid. We decided to stay in Grindelwald for a few days instead of Interlaken to be in the center of Jungfrau region. Hotel Spinne was a golden find especially for mid-range travelers who are price-conscious but are looking for convenience, great service and unbeatable views! We booked directly on their website and received a lower rate with free breakfast. We had breakfast in Lucerne & Geneva, and these cannot even begin to compare to Hotel Spinne's offering. Thank you Melanie for cooking amazing omelets - I enjoyed my meal very much! Having breakfast (and dinner) infront of a spectacular view of Mount Eiger is amazing. Suzanna went above and beyond during our check-in process. She was very informative and recommended & booked us with a local paragliding company in Jungfrau. She even reserved us a table for dinner for my mom's birthday and the restaurant prepared a special table for us! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Grindelwald station and Coop. The beds were typical of Europe being single beds pushed together; they were very comfortable. Make sure to request an Eiger view because the balcony is a plus and very worth it. My extremely memorable stay at Hotel Spinne created memories of Grindelwald I will cherish forever!…
Traveled to Switzerland with my mother for a week from the U.S. We decided to stay in Grindelwald for most of our trip to be in proximity of the Jungfrau region. Hotel Spinne was perfection! I suggest booking directly through the website as some pricing may be the same as third party sites but booking through the website may include breakfast (which was amazing). We booked in a double room with Eiger view (highly recommend!) The views are breathtaking! The hotel has a full spa (steam rooms, sauna, whirlpool, and heated outdoor pool which overlooks Eiger mountain); facilities are included for hotel guests. Every morning we had a hardy breakfast before exploring the region. The hotel is walking distance from the train station and Coop grocery store. The staff was incredible; from the luggage porter/hotel van driver to Melanie making omelets at breakfast to the management; Hotel Spinne is a gem of a hotel and I cannot wait to come back to Grindelwald and enjoy another relaxing stay. Thank you for everything!…
Location: Great, few minutes walk from the station. Good places to eat and drink all around and in the hotel. Room: Nice, warm and cozy. I booked directly from them and I was lucky to get a suite upgrade for free. Nothing beats a free upgrade. Services: Friendly and helpful people all around to make you feel welcome and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast: Good selection of warm and cold good. View: The best part is the view from the room. Awesome. Spa and Pool: Well maintained and clean spa with the best infinity pool. This is the best part of our stay . Overall, we (Family with kid) were very happy with the stay. Highly recommended.
We have just returned from an incredible stay at Hotel Spinne. From the moment we booked until we left there was very little to fault. The staff were incredibly helpful and went above an beyond to help us with information, restaurants recommendations, ticket discounts etc. Having looked at pictures online of the spa & infinity pool, we could not wait to check it out and it absolutely did not disappoint. The spa was amazing, we looked forward to it everyday for the 4 days we stayed. The views from the pool are incredible. We had breakfast included, which from our POV had plenty to choose from with hot food, breads, pastries, fruit, cereals, salad meats/cheese and more. You can request a fresh made omelette and it was the best omelette we have ever had, we woke up looking forward to it every morning! We had dinner in the restaurant and the menu had plenty of selection, we opted for Pizza and it was delicious. We loved sitting by the fire in the evening after the spa, before dinner! The hotel itself is well equipped & in a perfect location, a ski room which you can enter/exit to from the side of the hotel. Right beside the bus stop to take you in either direction, 5 min walk from the train station and the First cable car (highly recommend visiting!) The rooms are small, however, given the amount of time we spent in the rooms, it was not an issue. They were clean and well equipped. We had booked a room with Eiger view and it did not disappoint. The views from bed where absolutely stunning. The only downside was the beds, it was 2 single beds pushed together and 2 single duvet covers, ideally we would have liked a double bed and double covers. (Maybe you can request this, might be worth checking with the hotel on arrival or booking.) I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place they can relax and unwind and take in the beautiful scenery of Grindelwald. Thank you so much Hotel Spinne!…
Hotel Spinne is a traditional hotel with modern facilities Perfect for enjoying ski and relaxing after in the spa Staff really made it for us and we’re exceptionally friendly particularly Suzanna who did our booking and took care of us on our stay
Booked this hotel for 2 nights. The main reason is the thermal pool. The room itself is outdated but the view is fantastic. We were assigned at the extension building. Very limited power plugs and no internet connection at the balcony. The breakfast is good but not so much choices. For the price we expected a little bit better. The infinity pool has a gorgeous view of the Eiger Alps. But it’s very small and can get very crowded since the pool is only be open from 2-7pm. Wish the hotel will consider operating the pool for whole day. Overall our stay was good; but nothing really special. If money is not a problem for you then book this hotel but I have to say it’s not worth the price. ( yes probably 1 night; just to experience the infinity pool).
Stayed one week for skiing and had - to have it easy at the evenings - somewhat reluctantly booked half-board. The 4-course-menu did not disappoint us once at our 7 evenings. To not gain weight (further) we had planned to skip some courses, but finally could not resist and every evening were happy about this... Also the wine-selection comprises all the good "classics". Not sure how it would work for vegetarians. The service was very professional (friendly, but not too personal, and very fast). The restaurant seems to be also pretty popular for external bookings. These guests received a different menu-card for their choices. We had a suite with mountain-view and balcony, which was worth the view. For us the hot outdoor-pool was actually the reason for booking this hotel. After a day skiing we loved staying there and to just look out at the mountains around. I guess it is 7 meters long and 3 m wide: so, don't plan a swimming exercise. The hotel seems to have also quite some sauna-area, which we did not use (naked is there mandatory).…
We came as a family for a week's skiing over New Year. We had 2 rooms, both looking across to the Eiger, on a half board basis which removed the hassle of booking dinner each night. The hotel itself is located very close to the nearest ski run ('First') and buses are frequent with stops right outside the hotel's door. The hotel's facilities are excellent, especially the pool, although for British visitors the spa's 'no clothes' rule discouraged its use (especially for our teenagers!). The staff were super friendly and willing to help with any issues. The only improvements I would wish to suggest are that the dining room temperature is moderated downwards a bit (although the food was really excellent), and we would have appreciated the occasional bit of help reserving tables for lunch when we were visiting other locations, which the receptionist told us she was prohibited from doing. Overall though we have no hesitation in recommending Spinne.…
