Fast and easy checkin. Room 304. It had a sitting room but with the sloped ceiling it wasn't really useable. Quiet at night. Safe and Nespresso maker in the room. We did not use the spa. We did not try the restaurant because I was told it was a surprise tasting menu every night. I prefer to know what I will be served before deciding on dining there. Breakfast was very nice. The view from the rooms is amazing.
Location is great, less than 10mn walk to Train (Grund or station) and to Terminal. The best restaurant / food in Grindelwald. A boutique hotel, you feel home not in a big unipersonal hotel. Good service. Owners present and close to customers. Nice rooms, exceptional view
Stunningly beautiful hotel in Grindelwald, with beautiful views of the mountains. The suite was huge and lots of space to sit and just enjoy the scenery. Had dinner in the restaurant and food was excellent. Only slight issue is the walk downhill and uphill from the hotel! But still worth it.
We stayed at the Hotel Glacier in February 2020 for the 1st time and absolutely loved it, so we returned again this year. It is the perfect boutique hotel - lovely rooms which are all contemporary, GREAT breakfasts, AMAZING views of the Eiger, really friendly & lovely staff & EXCELLENT dinners (which are tasting menus). The location is perfect for us, although it is at the bottom of a hill about 10 mins from the centre, so as long as you don't mind walking up a hill to get into town, then it is fine. Some less-abled people would need to consider this.
Our first experience in hotel Glacier and definitely not the last. Our dinner was wonderful from the beginning till the end. First we had some cocktails in the lounge room, that have an absolutely amazing view on the mountains. After we went to the restaurant that looks amazing and had the pleasure to meet the owner that is very welcoming and make sure that every table is happy. Our waiter Humberto, that is also a sommelier since many years was absolutely great, he do speaks 7 languages and now perfectly his job, helping us with pairing the perfect wine with every one of the 7 courses. We could also ask any question about the food and he knew perfectly what he spoke about. The food was absolutely incredible and many time the kitchen personal come with the dishes and can explain you every ingredient. We we're surprised with the presentation of our dishes that look like pieces of art. It was by far the best experience we had in a restaurant…
