the place has nothing to do with an boutique hotel, more a pension with an upscale price. we where dissapointed with the room for 180.-CH, nothing to do with the fotos on the website. also with the handling of the staff, the fact that someone had ben smoking in the room and that there was evidence of it in form... The hotel is an adjunct to a restaurant with an outstanding reputation (closed for holidays when we stayed at the hotel). From the outside it looked very nice. The room was adequate, but furnished in a nondescript basic way. The bathroom was literally made of plastic, with a floor that buckled when stepped on in some places. The fixtures were... More

My booking was made by bookings.com with a Price garantee of CHF 170 for room and breakfast . At checking out I was charged for room and breakfast CHF 220 (the receptionist said laconically “my boss told me to charge CHF 220). After some negotiation based on a print out of the original reservation I was handed back in cash... More

The Jaegerhof is a small hotel above a superb restaurant. The location is relatively quiet, the staff very friendly, and the continental breakfast delicious. There is parking outside that is free 7pm to 8am but 2 CHF an hour in daytime. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the old town. Looking at the photos the rooms look like... More

The nice room on the web page can be the only of its sort. My tiny room was furnished with very old and poor quality furnitures. The bathroom is all plastic covered (including walls, ceiling, floor). Among the many rooms i stayed so far in all around the world, this room earns the poorest price/performance ratio award.

Negatives.. The standard of the rooms was, in my opinion, not as good as an IBIS hotel, and considerably more expensive. Old style bathrooms. If someone else has a shower at the same time the water goes hot and cold, the window would not close so not possible to sleep. Small TV, which is linked to central overhead light you... More

“Rooms 11 and 21 are directly above the outside smoking area. When the window is open, the room absorbs the smell of cigarette smoke.”
