great place, good service, reasonable rates. great view of the river and mountains. great spot to view the tuesdays market action. and if you smoke a nice balcony with an ashtray!! the room is very clean. has a kettle for coffee or tea. and a safe for you valuables. it could use a small fridge that would be a nice upgrade(suggestion)
I have enjoyed my 1 N stopover at Luzern. The room has the most amazing views of Kapellebrucke and Mt Pilatus....and close to the train station, and the sights are within walking distance. There is a pub downstairs serving beers, ale.. and pub grub, good prices for Luzern. Staff are helpful and friendly. I will book this hotel for my future visits to Luzern. Mt Pilatus and Luzern Boat trip are great excursions.
We had 2 great nights at Hotel Mr. Pickwick in September 2019. We stayed in a double room with an en suite bathroom and shower. The room was a decent size. It has a small balcony with fantastic views of the Kapellbrücke and the end of Lake Lucerne. The balcony is too small to sit on, but it was great to open the doors and enjoy beers and the great views in the day time AND at Night. I don’t remember our room number, but we were on the 4th floor and there is a lift. The restaurant on the first floor was nice for a bite or a beer, and they have some seating right out on the water. Very nice on a pretty day. They do not have breakfast, but that was no problem for us. The location is very good, walking distance to everything. The hotel is a little tricky to figure out at first, with 2 different entrances on different street levels and things, but soon you’ll have it sorted and there’s no problem from there. They also have you pay when you check in, but it makes it very easy on check out, you just drop your key into one of the drop boxes when you exit and your off! I would totally recommend this hotel.…
Booked this hotel last minute - reasonably priced - across the bridge from the Lucerne central station, about a 10min walk. Walked into Mr Pickwick pub in the Old Town - hotel reception is at the back. We booked an economy twin room but upgraded to a bigger room upon arrival. Room (above the pub) was clean, spacious, high ceilings... right by the lake and the chapel bridge!!! Bathroom was adequate size - well laid out, clean. Although room was above the pub, no noise issues. Hotel with elevator. Once we were checked into the hotel, secure access was through a back door. Wish we could’ve stayed longer... will definitely return!
Stayed here one night during 3 day visit. Close to train station hence the selection as a pub underneath normally not my first choice. Room small but very adequate. Happily the old carpet that is in the pub area is not in the room! We were on the 3rd floor and slept like babies so no issue with noise. Had a room with great view of the lake and famous bridge. Staff really nice. No issue recommending it as a very good budget option. PS: Make sure you scan room key after you leave the room to lock the door !
