This hotel was ok, but I must admit I expected a lot more for the price. There was construction in the front so we could not enjoy the veranda and there was a building being put up on the side as well so the view from our room was also to a construction site. The room was incredibly simple, and...

What can one say about such a wonderful hotel in the town of Lucerne, Switzerland? Just about everything was great, the only thing wrong was that we were only staying two nites! The location was perfect for a short stroll into town in the evening, The hotel's restaurant was excellent & the food was superb. the lounge and the employees...

This hotel is located in a building dating from 1875. It is across the street from Lake Lucerne. It's a 15-20 minute walk from Luzern train station. Our original room was small and faced a construction site. There was a strong mold smell, so staff moved us to a beautiful, large room with two balconies overlooking the lake. There was...

This was a fine hotel, a bit piece milled together to find your room, and no A/C and no screens on the windows. BUT there were no bugs with the open windows. It was very clean and a nice walk from downtown. Directly across the street from Lake Lucerne, which was also a beautiful walk in the evening.

This summer We arrived last minute late in the evening with our little 3 months old Luca in this marvelous Hotel. The General Manager didn't hesitate to offer his personal parking spot in order to take out fast our luggage. They arranged the room with an appropriate baby bed and everything we needed. In the morning we woke up with...

I have to say that Lucerne is breathtakingly beautiful. I was enchanted with this city, the first moment I set eyes on it. Our bus tour chose this hotel for a two night stay. It's definitely a Grand Old Dame, and not modern at all. I don't mind, but for someone who wants a more modern Hilton type of hotel,...

Grand Hotel Europe may not be the nr. 1 luxury hotel in Lucerne - it's not pretending to be one - but having been in the business since 1870'ies (!) it can offer an unforgettable "Grand Hotel" experience on affordable price. We flew in to Zürich, took the direct train connection to Luzern station and then bus nr. 6 to...

My sister and I visited September20-22 and arrived exhausted. We were shown to a room directly facing a construction site in full swing. Pile drivers, jack hammers enough that the very room was shaking and the noise unbearable. When I asked for another room I was advised that any other room would cost $100. Per night more. Odd since the...

We stayed here for 4 days as a jumping off place for driving around Switzerland. That was a perfect idea! The front of the house staff was helpful and friendly. The bar staff went out of their way to make a late dinner panini! We had a spacious front facing room with a water view. They have a very tiny...

We visited on a Tour for two nights - the hotel was clean, and staff very friendly. It was convenient to the city center and offered a great walk along the Lake Lucerne. We'd welcome staying here on our own planned travel in the future.
