I booked this hotel for a family trip to Lucern in October. Two days before the Swiss Federal Government announced new restrictions for travelers within the country due to COVID My 9 year old son also started to get pretty sick and we decided to cancel our trip return home and get him tested for COVID I reached out to the hotel, made several appeals and explained my exceptional situation so I could at least not have the booking fees charged to my credit card! They were very arrogant and extremely rude in their e-mails comunications not showing any good faith on their behalf. The hotel charged me the full amount of my stay despite the current restrictions and my appeals.
We wanted to escape the lockdown of Geneva ( words that would have made no sense this time last year!) and were intrigued to see more of our home country. Cascada was an utter delight from our warm welcome to our lovely lunch to the impeccable room to the friendly service to the divine cava to the scrumptious paella to the fabulous breakfast - you get the idea. We won’t even bother to research hotels next trip. :). Big shout out to Alessio for wonderful waiter service and also - thank you for the best beds and wondrous toiletries. I am presently on the train but wish I wasn’t. Thank you, thank you, thank you xx
We had a bedroom for (3) my husband, my daughter and me. They gave us a room in the second floor, a nice and modern room, with enough space for the three of us. It is really a pleasure to arrive in a perfectly clean room with all comfort you need. A nice and big bathroom, a gratis minibar, coffee maker, Microwave, a safe that you can open with the room card, which is really cool 😎 but the best part was the bed, is so comfortable! Besides, everyone is very friendly 😃
The Cascada is well situated near the central station and the lake. The staff at the desk was really friendly and funny even (surprise for Switzerland...) and so was the breakfast staff. I think that Boutique Hotel is a bit of a grand name for what it is. The reception area makes you think more of a budget hotel. The rooms are tidy, efficient, not particularly stylish. The names after all the waterfalls are a nice find and memorable. I can certainly recommend it if you are looking for a hotel that is reaonably priced and is without many frills.
The hotel has just voluntarily waived my non refundable booking as I had to cancel due to Switzerland being placed on the UK Covid quarantine list. I would like to place on record my appreciation and reassure other travellers about the decency of the management at the hotel.
