First room #16 - dirty everywhere, greasy chair, old paint falling down on your head (for CHF180/night!). After scandal - changed to clean (#20). No conditioning !!! Only ventilators!!! Even with 13 degrees at night suffocating! Unbearable noise - no sleep all night

Hotel is clean and well situated, right next to the train station. But there is no element that makes it above average. Rooms are OK and adequately equipped. However the breakfast (breakfast room and quality delivered) was a disappointment.

It started good, we got a renovated room. But after waking up I was a bit itchy. While looking in the mirror I got into a shock, apparently I was allergic for bed bugs (went even to the hospital). If these little animals wouldn’t have been there I would have rated the hotel as a 7 but now <1. We... More

Montana remains a basic hotel, but the recent addition of free wifi is a big help for business trips. Staff are also the friendliest and most helpful in Geneva, which more than makes up for the basicness of the rooms.

We stayed here for 3 days, accessible to all the city sites including the lake and also close to rail and bus stations. Many restaurants close by with various types of food served. The breakfast is good and plentiful with heaps of chooses, the boiled eggs are a great idea. The hotel was being renovated while we were there, almost... More

The location of Hotel Montana is ideal. Near the train station and in the center of Geneva. the pros... The front desk staff speak English, room is clean, i was able to borrow an adapter, the breakfast spread is good and I was given a chocolate upon check-out. The cons... no free wifi (even the lobby Mac did not have... More

Half way through a two week bike trip we stopped at Geneva. Having tried 5 different places Montana was the only one with a room. As it was raining and we were tired we decided to take the room. The price was the most we paid during our entire trip....with no breakfast included. Good bits - both receptionists we encountered... More

The Montana Hotel is barely few steps away from the Rue de Alps road exit of the Gare Cornavin central Geneva Station main which is 10 min away from airport (with free travel slip from airport and travel card from hotels). Rooms are bit smaller but clean. Its a no frills hotel. Reception guys are friendly and you can ask... More

We love it -- though not at first sight... Yes it needs renovation, furniture and TV are outdated, air condition would be wellcome, but the bed is good, the linen is clean and of good quality, bathoom and shower works well, an open window and fan worked perfectly for the night, and the staff is SO nice and helpful that... It's not too expensive for Geneva, for sure needs renovation but the staff is so nice and helpful that it doesn't matter. They've free wifi in the lobby and a big safe in the room I could leave my laptop in it! For sure I'll go back there if I have the chance to. I recommend!
