This is more of a cafe and bar primarily than a hotel but I was so suprised at how clean and cosy the whole establishment is. If you want to go for a great location and need accomodation for overnight or weekend, this is your place. I experienced super friendly service and the coffee is sooo good.

Rude staff could not have been more unhelpful if they tried. Hopeless service, no reception desk, no lift, no help from staff. Sneers rather than smiles, Makes Fawlty Towers look like a Kempinski Hotel. Many far better options in Bern. Don't be fooled by website.

The hotel is located at the corner of the road. The staff is nice. There is a nice view from our room but it was extremely noisy! We went to bed at around midnight and there were still many people downstairs at the bar or on the street. The noise from people laughing and chatting stopped at around 4am! Then...

The best about this hotel is location and the room (spacious and clean). But there is no even reception desk. We had to check in at the bar. There is no elevator to go to the rooms. Service was helpless and the breakfast is a swindle (just coffe or juice and some confiture with a croissant). We took a last...

I stayed here for business and have decided to return to this place very soon. It is a fabulous hotel. The quality of services they offer at such affordable prices was outstanding. From day one I was impressed with everything there and it continued throughout my stay. Room which I got was very tastefully decorated and well-appointed with needed things....

The place has its best times long behind it. No decent noise isolation between the rooms and the windows don't close properly and this with a busy street outside. The near-by church bell rings late into the night and starts early morning again. The rooms are outdated but clean. Breakfast was minimal but okay. The receptionist should not be in...

Stayed there for one night and was quite disappointed. Staff was unfriendly and did not seem to like talking to customers. Some of them spook neither German nor English, which was a surprise. The breakfast was overpriced at ten francs and the rooms were quite loud. On the bright side, the rooms were clean.

This hotel is very poor value. It looks nice from the outside and the location is very good but that is about it. Our room was in the second floor and the stairs were very steep and narrow. We did not get any help with our luggage. Once in the very small room we noticed that the bathroom door did...

The Hotel is very nice, almost a "boutique hotel". The staff is not very friendly and the rooms are also comfortable. It 'already in the monumental area of the city, of course costs a lot as all the hotels in Switzerland and therefore is not advisable to apply for the breakfast, unless you're off to eat everything!

This place is LOUD, small, and hot in the summer. We booked 2 rooms in summer 2004 for 4 nights. We stayed only 1, so that should be your first clue. Our first clue should have been that none of the Tourist Info staff at the Bern rail station had ever been in the hotel! This is the loudest place...
