First of all, may I say the staff were absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble every need catered for 5*****. Room clean and tidy and quiet. 5 mins walk to Claraplatz with a great choice of trams to all parts of town. Only 10 mins walk to the Messe, so ideal for exhibitions. Totally enjoyed...

The hotel is near the Clara platz and the Basel Exhibition Centre which was the main reason for us to choose it. Hotel Basilisk offers a really budget stay in Basel, small rooms, very modest decoration of rooms, old renovation. The main shortcoming of the hotel is that there is no ventilation in the bathroom (room # 112). Wifi was...

After being royally shafted by another hotel who I shall refrain from naming for now and being left very stressed at the thought of being stuck in Basel without a room for two nights Basilisk found me a room at very short notice for much less than the price I had already paid for the rip off hotel. I was...

I needed a cheap accommodation for just one night and this one was for the best price that Booking.com had in offer - 80 CHF. Small single room on the top floor, with shared bathrooms (luckily no qeues), sink in the room and a balcony with beautiful view, litte table and 2 chairs. The bed and the pillow were cool...

This was a nice hotel, friendly clean and excellent value. Yes the room is small but very clean and tidy. Well positioned for old town and congress centre. Much better than some reviews suggested. Nice outside area to enjoy the sun

This hotel is about a 15 minute walk outside of the main town but with a tram stop right outside the front door it's just 5 minutes away to town. The tram system is free to tourists. I stayed here on my own as my friends were in another hotel as they booked at a different time to me. The...

I can't actually remember much about the room here, I was pretty knackered by this point, although I think the lighting arrangement was a bit odd. I can remember the dragon room key, which there was no way I was going to be able to carry, but thankfully the desk is 24hrs and the staff there were great. There was...

It is about as low a rating as you can have a hotel without being a back packers so it is what it is. The staff give a much higher rated service than 3 star however. They are friendly and helpful and do go the extra mile. The rooms are very small and basic and have not been touched since...

Reasonable value for money, we had a nice sized room but the beds were poor quality and hard as were the pillows, my wife got bitten by something! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. Hotel for the travelling salesman (sorry salesmen). It's OK but not great and there afe far better in Basel but were booked.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it – - the rooms are clean, secure and a good price for Basel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and warm, even when it was -4 degrees outside. However, it really is a ‘no frills’ hotel, apparently not refurbished for several decades. Single beds are becoming a rarity in hotels...
