A very small public house in a very small village in Devon. It doesn't get much more out of the way than here but it is so very worth the effort. It is so picturesque its almost a cliche. The building is ancient, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food they serve is good pub food. They are...

Thus is a wonderful inn, Sunday lunch is fabulous - it's looked great and tasted even better. The beer from Salcombe Brewery was really tasty. The atmosphere is really nice. We will go back for an evening meal as the menu though small sounds very inviting.

We have eaten at the Tradesman a few times Lunch time which is the best time to eat there. But Evening we are not sure at all. We tried to book a table for 5 of us and we asked a staff member how much time in advance you need to book. I was told the day before so when...

Stayed for one night, room was small, cold and not very clean, especially the bathroom. Since our booking clearly stated a large room ( higher tariff than a standard room) I enquired about this, but while staff confirmed they indeed had bigger rooms, no explanation or apologies were given. Dinner was truly excellent, would definitely come back for a meal...

We stayed here for two nights. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent, we rarely dine in the same place twice when we are on holiday but we did here. The staff were very positive and welcoming. If we come back to this neck of the woods we will definitely stay here again.

We have been 3 nights in a row as staying 50 yards from this beautiful pub. Food has been gorgeous the last 3 nights. We said we would try different pubs but we don't feel we need too! Landlady and staff are just so welcoming. Big plus they love dogs xxxx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Tradesman's Arms. Our room was quite lovely complete with exposed beams and a picturesque view from the bedroom. It was surprisingly spacious for a B&B and we felt very comfortable. The Wifi in our room was spotty however this was not a problem as there was a chair in the hallway directly outside...

I went here with my sisters and 89 year old mum for a meal. The service was absolutely superb, as was the food. Mum was treated like royalty, they could not do enough for her. The landlady and landlord could not have made us feel more welcome. I highly recommend this lovely country pub for a meal anytime of the...

We are hoping to move into this area soon, so delighted to find one of our local pubs is so welcoming and does such good food. The added bonus, was the slice of beef given to our small dog as we left. You may find her on your doorstep!

“Best rooms are the Thatch Room, The Village Green both at the front of the pub. The Garden Room is fine and situated at the back of the pub with a small area of private garden. Room 1 was the smallest and the view from the window was overlooking the kitchen roof and did get some ventilator and other kitchen noise, but this was not evident when we wanted to sleep.”
