This is our second time at Tre Esse. It is located in rolling countryside, but only about 1km from St Francis basilica: about 15 mins walk up a narrow lane (but quite busy with traffic). The place has charm and plenty of character, even if some of the furniture and fixtures don't seem to have changed since we were last... More

Lovely place very close to the centre of Assisi. Old building but with modern facilites. Pool and surrounding area was great. Loads of space. Very accomodating and provided bread, cheese and meats for our evening meal.

Very easy if you've a car, but manageable if you haven't! It's a 10 minute uphill walk to the edge of the town for restaurants and shops and Assisi is hilly, so be prepared if you're going to venture further. I walked up and down twice a day, but the joy of being in Assisi and having a pool to... More

For the money and the location this place was hands down a real place of quiet and beauty. It was recommended by a friend. We drove the better part of a day from Montorosso Al Mare, following google maps. We passed through miles of less than beautiful areas, kind of like what you'd see on 95 going through New Jersey.... Located between the old Assise and Santa Maria deli Angeli, right in the countryside, you will find Tre Esse. The place is very quite and simple The welcome is a bit shy and need to be improved. Avoid the room 11 which door open on the terrace where everybody is staying. The room should not be rented for sure. Ask... More

This is not a big city grand hotel - so don't expect the same facilities. But what it is, is a charming, quiet hotel close to Assisi that oozes charm. The views are fantastic, both from the terrace and the pool area. Our room (#31) was a good size for this class of hotel, and was clean and comfortable. The... More

OK, this is not a five star hotel but the overall experience was deserving of accolades. The hotel is located about 1/4-1/3 mile from the "walls" of the city, all uphill, and about 0.7 miles to the main Basilica (of San Francesco). It took us 15-20 minutes to get to the Basilica. But it is an uphill walk. No problem... More

Yes this place has a good view and yes it is a quaint old residence. But the positive points end there. To start, the wifi connection is really bad. This place has NO recycling whatsoever. I asked the front desk clerk where I could dispose of an empty plastic bottle. She told me (incorrectly) that there is no recycling of... More

I stayed two nights at this hotel. My room was spacious and well furnished with an uninterrupted view across the valley. The en-suite was cramped though and you had to climb over the bidet to get into the shower. There was also a problem with the water pressure which was u usually high. Turning on the tap on the handbasin... More

Unique location, just a short walk outside Assisi, with splendid views and a comfortable pool. The rooms need a makeover; gives you the feeling of a family owned hotel; a pity that the young male member of the staff lacks any charm or enthusiasm, nor is he well informed; he told us that it was not possible to have dinner,...
