Charming seem to be the word most is using to describe the II Castello hotel. Different than I'm use to in a hotel. Very small room with no A/C, no bath tub only a shower. No English TV. The village was nice. I was with a group of 67 so I had no say where we stayed. While ok I... More

I need to say that the location of this hotel is awesome - Assisi was one of the most charming places and this hotel is in a great location to walk around the small town. The hotel is an ancient 13th century monastery so it is very old. I was thought that the hotel rooms were converted from monastery rooms... More

Stayed here in May with EF College Study Tour which I was leading. Accommodations were typical for Europe - small elevator, small rooms. Our dinner was good and the breakfast was wonderful. The views were exquisite and this was surely an upgrade from the other hotels EF Tours used on other trips. I must comment on the outstanding service, however.... More

The location of this hotel is awesome. Assisi was one of the most charming places we visited in Italy and this hotel is in a great location to walk around the small town. The hotel itself is built within the walls of the city in an ancient 13th century monastery. Because of this, space is limited. The hotel rooms are... More

This hotel had the most character out of all six hotels my family of five stayed in while on tour. First off, this is not by any means a modern or luxurious facility. The elevators only hold 2 people with luggage and are very slow, the rooms are on the small side, with a minimum of furniture and the bathrooms... More

We stayed here for one night with our tour group. The location is fantastic. We walked to the basilica and into town, and it is beautiful. Room was very, very small, and so was the bathroom. Slept with the window open and it was fairly comfortable. They provided our group with a meal and it was very good. Whatever you... More

The location of the hotel is prime and that's the good news. The hotel room was a tiny box and the beds hard as a rock. We were on a tour and only stayed one night - thank goodness. The hotel staff was surly and the hotel in need of a facelift. Dingy and uninviting.

Prime location but in definite need of refurbishment and total revamp. Carpet should be removed in corridors and bedrooms and replaced with tiles and/or wood flooring. Beds were like slates and could not sleep on them. Dinners were good but breakfast very limited for different diets. Could be a gem or jewel in Assisi if given a revamp.

Rooms were nice. Our triple room was a good size. Food at the restaurant was good. Nice location to anything in Assisi. Staff was fiendly and helpful. Spent one night there. Good for a 800 year old hotel.
