Stayed as part of a group. Beautiful setting with great views of the Basilica and the valley. Rooms were small but well equipped. Bed could have been more comfortable! Staff were welcoming and food was varied and plentiful. They even provided a full buffet breakfast at 5am because we needed an early departure for our flight from Rome. That goes... More

I would say this room is just about average. We did get the corner room with the walkout patio though, and the view was amazing. The staff was great. The location is good since it is right next to the gate and it is fun to walk up and down the hilly streets to all the restaurants, bars, and shops.... More

Excellent location and inexpensive beverages do not compensate for a small room where your bed is a glorified cot (Room 19), and the bathroom is stuffy and has mold in the shower. Simple furnishings as is the case here is fine. Dirty is a different story Wifi was iffy and it's clear the hotel caters to groups on tour who... More

The hotel is well located just at the town gate and close to the main attractions. The car park in front of the hotel is small, but very convenient if you are among the lucky ones. My room had a nice view and a small balcony. The room was spacious but with some (for me) irritating remarks, e.g. too small... More

We were lucky to get a room with beautiful views. This is an old hotel but charming. We only stayed here 1 night with a Globus Tour. We had a buffet dinner and breakfast which were average. Don't be fooled...there is a lot of walking to be done here with up and down hills! Rooms are small but clean and... More

Pros: Just outside the gate nearest St Francis Basilica which is less than a 10 minute uphill walk. A “cold” buffet breakfast is included with the room. Very large rooms by European standards, especially those located on the corners. The valley view rooms all have balconies. Cons: Top rated TA restaurants and other city sights other than St Francis are... More

Really nice place everyone was sweet! I give this a four because we came from Venice with no airconditioning and they had our rooms cool and it was very clean! Dinner buffet was ok! People very nice! The bar was nice and the terrace was refreshing! Overall good

The hotel was clean and comfortable as expected. It was located at the bottom of the hill and in the center of activity being near the basilica and the tourist shops. The hotel food was awful. The room was sufficient and had a nice clean bathroom but the air conditioning was broken. The highlight was a bat flying around that... More

We stayed here with a group for three nights. The staff was not friendly nor helpful, and an argument broke out among the wait staff during our first dinner. Our dinner was rushed and unsatisfactory. We chose to eat elsewhere on the remaining nights. Although the location is great for visiting the Basilica, I would rather walk across Assisi than... More
