Enjoy your stay in Assisi!
Our room had a small balcony with beautiful flowers that overlooked the countryside of Assisi: it was charming and SO pretty! The room was clean and comfortable, and the charming and thoughtful inn-keeper (who speaks fluent English!) is a large part of what made our stay so pleasant. There's a wine store a couple doors down in one direction and a laundry a few doors down in the other direction. Location was just right for us.
This hotel is centrally located, with access to all that Assisi has to offer, and most of its rooms face a beautiful view. But the hotel, although rather modern, needs a make over. The floor was coming up, in our room, and the toilet seat was slip-sliding when we sat on it. The furniture was totally useless apart from an armoire where one could hang shirts and coats. But there was no place to put away the rest of our clothes. The hotel was very clean, but lacked in Italian charm. it's almost as if the owner had given up. Also, if you choose to stay here, do not have the breakfast that is offered for 5 euros a person. It is totally devoid of interest, dry bread and dry croissants that no amount of butter and jam could make taste better. Instead, for a couple of extra euros, walk up the street to the delicious patisseries that line the street past Santa Chiara. The owner is well meaning, but he needs to work a bit more on his property to make it attractive.…
Stopped here for lunch a little early for most Italians. We were so happy they were open. I am GF, so am often struggling with what I can eat. I ordered their Chicken Breast with Savory. The Savory was fresh and added so much to this meal. It was just delicious. My husband had a pasta dish and said it was excellant. So happy we found this place.
We had a tremendous stay at this hotel with warm greetings from the owner, his son and daughter. The views from the terrace of our room were spectacular to wake up to each morning. This hotel had a lot of character and highly recommend future guests to stay here in this beautiful town of Assisi!!
We regularly visit Assisi and first used this restaurant for dinner about a year ago. Once again we enjoyed an excellent meal, the staff are very friendly, service efficient and prices reasonable. One advantage is that the restaurant always seems to be quiet as it is located away from the central tourist traps. We look forward to returning.
