We stopped at Massimo's on our way through Tuscany. Le due Querce was our oasis of peace and relax. The view from the pool is simply unforgettable. Admittedly some of the furniture could be improved but the apartments are really spacious. Surrounded by vineyards, and olive trees, Massimo and his wife made us feel at home. Helpful and friendly we felt at home. A pity we could not stay any longer.
Not only the beauty of the place but owners extend them selfs to acomodate you from a last minute booking to wine and food! Their chef is really good. The view is amazing from every angle. The pool the roms... I cant wait to come back this year, Its very romantic and cozy, a full Tuscan experience.
Le Due Querce is a wonderful place to stay. This lovely agriturismo located in Cerreto Guidi (Tuscany) is surrounded by vineyards. You feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. Massimo and Alba are the most welcoming hosts. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and had all the comfort we needed. We enjoyed the beautiful swimmingpool, the sundeck, the garden and the delicious restaurant. Cerreto Guidi is a great location to visit the surroundings such as Vinci, Pistoia, Florence and Pisa.
Once again we stayed at the fattoria, this time for 2 weeks (one with friends), and we all agree that the location is wonderful! The staff, even taking the language barrier into consideration, went out of their way to help us! Highlight of the stay was the ubiquitous wine-tasting, serving their own (IMHO excellent) wines. Although certain aspects of the lodgings might be considered 'rustic', they served their purpose. Paulo & Benjamino, look forward to our return next year! :) One slight minus: no internet access, although you can get access at the Grand Hotel Bellavista in Montecatini (same owner). Would be nice to have access at the fattoria... :)
Le due Querce is the perfect getaway when you like stunning views of vineyards, waking up by the whistling birds and enjoy quiet and relaxing surroundings. We stayed during mid season and sometimes it really felt like we were the only occupants of the house. I basically had the pool to myself, which was very nice. There were 3 other Beglian (Flemish) couples at that time, who were very discrete. The last day however new Italian guests arrived and gone was the silence: they made lot’s of noise even at night. They made as realise that we hadn’t rented a little house but an apartment where neighbours could keep you from sleeping. The apartment itself, was on the ground floor (nr 6) and was very nicely decorated with an authentic rustic fee, two fireplaces, an ancient stone sink...It was supposed to be an apartment for 6 people, but actually not too big for 2. If we had come with 2 other couples, they would have been sleeping in the living room, which didn’t even have a door so no privacy at all. Cooking here was a real experience, but we very much enjoyed cooping with the basic tools we had. We had a tiny problem with ants in our bathroom, but after buying an insecticide we got rid of them. The bedroom looked great with the romantic bed, but it was a terrible pity that the mattress made us suffer from back pains. My husband couldn’t get a whole night of sleep because of it during our entire stay. Apart from that, everything was perfect. The land lord Enzo was charming, helpful and offered us 2 bottles of his wines, of which we bought 6. I would recommend Le due Querce , do not be fooled with my criticism on the details, I just want to be as honest as I possibly can. Even though this was a low budget vacation (we had almost 50% off on normal rent, because of the season), I think it was one of our best vacations ever. Tuscany IS an extraordinary location: culture, wine, beautiful nature even the sea is not that far, but I must admit that the hill top house Le due Querce gave an extra special feel to it. So much we still have to see.. Next year I would definitely do this all over again, and I would even book for 2 instead of 1 week. We already were Italy-addicts but this experience has only enhanced that.…
