Great location for exploring Siena and the surrounding area, plus we had great luck with the restaurants just to the north (?) of the castle, La Piccarda (a trip highlight) and Osteria Bella Napoli. The stay in the castle was a return visit, and we liked it just as much the second time- nicely renovated. We were very well received...

Very well run castle rooms by the owners themselves. Authentic castle with antique finishing. If you are looking for a modern high tech swanky place this is not for you, but if you want a unique/ different experience and of course you have a car to get around, this is ideal. Not a place to say yes we would return...

The stay at Castello di Monteliscai was a genuinely wonderful experience. Large rooms, easy for self catering and dining and relaxing. The views were stunning and our children enjoyed exploring and playing around the Castle. The hosts were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Our kids loved them and they even helped us with coordinating bicycle hire and advice about where...

What a unique experience to stay in a castle from 1100 AD. The hotel was very nice and in somewhat in the theme of what you would expect for castle decore, but was modern. But what did it was the setting, the beautiful country side, views and castle entrance. A taxi or bus is mandatory. It is highly recommend you...

A very nice and old building with excellent hosts! The room was very spacy, convenient and clean. The most important is the atmosphere, we felt like living in an other era. Also, the view is gorgeous!

I had a great time at castello Di Monteliscai. The owners were super friendly and helpful, moreover the location was wicked. We splept in a REAL CASTLE dated back to 1100!! An absolutely unique experience, I would definitely recommend a stay to couples for a romantic one. Impressive!

We really enjoyed our stay in the tower room with beautiful views over Tuscan hills. The room was spacious and peaceful and it was lovely to have access to the kitchen downstairs. We had our own car so the couple of kms drive into Siena was not a problem and there were delightful small country roads to explore nearby. It...

We had some trouble in Pisa and were delayed getting to the castle. I called the wonderful family that runs the place and they were very accommodating and allowed us a late check in. The castle is very nice and was a great change from the hotels that we stayed in for most of the trip. You will need a...

It was a beautiful medieval castle with wonderful surroundings, but if you are planning to visit siena, you'll need a car to get to the downtown. The rooms were lovely and spacious with a kitchenette. My only complaint is that the check out was at 10 at the owner's home which is 5to 7mn away.so you have to already be...

This was at one time a castle. Or large lookout building. Now however it is a large stone building that has been converted into multiple (20+) apartments. You are renting a bedroom/bathroom inside an apartment. The kitchen(tiny) and dining room/entry are shared by the the 3 bedrooms. Pros: -Authentically old, some of the stones on the building go back to...
