Beautiful historic stone bulding inside the walls of San Gimignano. The room (we got "upgraded" to a suite) was spacy and the apparently traditional room decoration - obviously nicely renovated some time ago - gave a very romantic and idyllic feeling in this gorgeous place. The large bathroom with jakuzi type bath tub and a large separate shower cabin a... More

We stayed here as a family of 3 in a triple room. We were given room 10 in Torrione 2 which had a lovely terrace that looked out over the beautiful surrounding hills; a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or an evening drink. The room was very traditional in style, had been fairly recently renovated and was extremely clean. It... More

As the photos show, the rooms here are beautiful. A few have a terrace with views over the countryside - a great place to sit out over a bottle of wine in the evening! We were met at the tabacchi that the family runs in the main street, and walked to the rooms - Palazzo al Torrione and Palazzo al... More

Palazzo al Torrione and Palazzo al Torrione 2 are actually the same place. A small and friendly B&B, near the surrounding wall of San Gimignano's old city. The owner is extremely friendly. The breakfast is served in her little kitchen, just like in a traditional Tuscan home. You MUST ask for the tomato bruschetta. Some of the rooms face the... More

Palazzo al Torrione 2 Is one of the closest hotels to the gate where the buses drop off and pick up. The main street is bustling with activity but this is one street over and was very quiet. Our room was one flight up, no lift, and was large, with comfy bed, small fridge, nice bathroom. We were not sure... More

It's hard for a couple to travel with one teenage daughter and one 21 year old and stay in the same room. Of course, European rooms are often much much smaller. NOT this stay. We enjoyed a huge room with a bathroom down a flight of stairs within our own room. It even had a jacuzzi tub that was uber... More

We stayed at the Plazzo al Torrione for 2 nights in Sept '09 The owner (Vana) met us at the outside gate within 5 minutes of us phoning her. (TIP: an italian cell phone is very handy for this) After she met us, we followed her to a private parking outside the wall, then she shuttled us in her mini-van... More

We had a great stay at the Palazzo al Torrione 2. The rooms were very nice and the bathroom was great. The location was wonderful being inside San Gimignano, just a few steps down an pretty alley from the main street. The proprietor was very nice and she helped get us to the parking lot and with luggage. The breakfast... More

The rooms at the Palazzo al Torrione are quite lovely really. The bathroom was one of the most spacious we had during our trip. The water pressure was nice too. However, as mentioned in the previous review, Francesco freaked us out a bit. We had trouble too finding the right gate, and needless to say, he was a bit impatient/irritable... More
