We chose the Podere Sant'Elena for a 10-day vacation in Tuscany, and we would not hesitate to do it again. The B&B is a beautifully renovated Tuscan-style farm, and the owner/manager Barbara did a wonderful job in maintaining the spirit of the place. The rooms are cozy and clean, with a thorough daily room service. Located between vineyards and olive groves with a wonderful view of the medieval town of San Gimignano, the garden/pool area is perfect for hot days. San Gimignano is only a short walk away (approx. 30 mins along a good, but unlit way), so if you are at least mediocre on foot, the Podere Sant'Elena is located perfectly for aperitivo and dinner in town. If you prefer to go there by car, it is a 5 min drive, so not bad, either. Additionally, you can reach Florence, Siena and Volterra in approx. 60/40/30 min, so it is located very good for the occational dose of culture. If you still need more reasons to book, here you go: The breakfast is simply unbeatable if you are in for something typically Italian: omelette with vegetables from the garden, Italian cheese and prosciutto, plus a wide selection of Italian sweets from Barbaras pasticceria. There's no other way to put it, it was the best breakfast we had in any hotel so far. And the last and most important reason to visit the Podere Sant'Elena is the team around Barbara and Irene: Always cordial, always happy, always ready to share tips and stories. They make the stay at the Podere Sant'Elena not only a stay at a very good B&B, but instead they make you feel welcome and at home. Additional information on the B&Bs Covid-19 policy: There is a clear and strict Covid-19 policy in place, with disinfectant provided everywhere and all relevant rules applied. The staff takes Covid-19 seriously, making you feel safe. So no concerns about this!

During our northern-Italy Tour we decided to stay in Tuscany for a couple of days in order to hike, taste wine and enjoy incredible food in a „not too touristic way“. Podere Sant‘Elena near San Gimignano checks all the boxes. Barbara and Irene make all their guests feel extremely welcome and offered the greatest recommendations for excellent cuisine and outdoor-activities and themselves served a marvelous breakfast. Plus we stayed in a beautiful room overlooking the picturesque towers of San Gimignano. We highly recommend Sant‘Elena and are looking forward to coming back next time we‘re in Tuscany:)

Had the privilege to stay here during our family trip through Italy and I have to say it was one of the highlights. Beautiful villa with a large pool with amazing views of San Gimignano. The hosts were super nice and helpful, made you feel truly welcome. The whole place has a home away from home atmosphere. If you ever come to Tuscany, a stay here is a must.

If you are looking for a peaceful location with beautiful views, comfortable accommodation, and wonderful hosts, you need look no further that this superb B n B overlooking San Gimignano. Podera Sant'Elena is a lovely place to stay and a great base for exploring the Chianti region of Tuscany. The hosts, Irene and Barbara made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and took care to check everything was OK throughout our 4 night stay. Irene is an absolute star manager, providing us with maps on where to visit, places to eat, and even the best places to park in town. Our air conditioned room was a good size, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We also had a lovely view over the garden and pool. Breakfasts were a special moment every day with lovely pastries from Barbara's patisserie, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere on the outdoor terrace admiring the fantastic panoramic view across the valley to San Gimignano. As B & B's go, the Podera Sant'Elena it as close to perfect as we have found anywhere. Irene and Barbara felt like friends by the time we left. Fully recommend this place.
