Hotel San Michele in San Gigminano is situated in a perfect location not far from the city gates. It has a fabulous view of the Tuscan hills, with a lovely . garden and terrace. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. The only downfall was the very strict management, that did not allow picnics on certain tables, and would not serve tea or coffee in the morning unless you purchased the full breakfast. As there were no coffee shops nearby, and no coffee makers in the room, this was quite surprising
My Husband and I have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday staying at the Hotel San Michele in San Gimignano. The hotel is lovely... Nothing is too much trouble for Paula & Roberta who looked after us extremely well. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable too. The bathroom was a good size and there was plenty of hot water. The towels were changed every day too. The breakfast was good and the selection of dishes was changed from day to day which added to our enjoyment. The pool and seating around the pool was excellent and the pool was beautfully cleaned daily. All the outside terrace areas were well maintained and a lovely place to sit and enjoy a beer or glass of wine in the evenings. An absolute super hotel which is a credit to Paula & Roberta.
This hotel is set on the outskirts of San Gimignano. Beautiful panoramic view. Peaceful and serene. It is lovely to sit in the pool and outdoor area at the end of the day with a glass of wine to enjoy the views. The rooms are very clean. Great breakfast with delicious cappuccino and fresh croissants every morning. The owners helped us set up dinner reservations and arrange taxis which was very much appreciated.
I am currently staying at this wonderful hotel with my mother. I cannot say enough good things about it. First of all, the two sisters, Paula & Roberta, are so charming and have been the most wonderful hosts. They have been so helpful in suggesting places to see, helping us to purchase online tickets for the local bus, and programming our GPS. We have so enjoyed talking with them about their beautiful country and have felt welcomed back “home” everyday, when we come back from our daily excursions. They always want to hear about what we did that day. The hotel is very quaint and extremely clean. The view from behind the hotel is amazing and so peaceful. We have enjoyed sitting and looking at the view and enjoying a glass of wine. They only serve breakfast but provide the most wonderful assortment of pastries, fruit, cheese, meat, yogurts, and make divine coffees at your request. It is the perfect location to explore all the small towns in the area of Tuscany. If you are looking for a high priced, luxurious hotel, this is not the place for you. But if you want a hotel where you feel welcomed and feel at home, this is definitely the place to stay. We absolutely love it here!!!!…
A family run small hotel. I thought it expensive for what it was - plus I was dismayed to find out that though on their website it states: free breakfast, I was charged for it. I took this up with the owner but she was adamant breakfast is charged. I thought on this occasion they could have relented, particularly as I was paying top dollar for the room, in spite of the fact I booked months ago through Booking.com. WiFi worked well, the pool looked clean but I didn’t use as it was chilly. My advice to travellers to this hotel is double check about breakfast. Going to San Gim is easy, either by bus (€1.25) from across the road, or on foot. There are several car parks outside the own walls, charging around €2 per hour.
