The last day of our trip in Italy we were forced to stay one more night in Pisa. We had no plans to stay in Pisa and therefore, I had no idea where to get a room. Fortunately I had my Rick Steve's guide with me and it recommended the Royal Victoria. The book saved us lots of trouble. The...

Having read the other reviews, my wife and I had to try, and we wern't disappointed. Far from it, we loved our stay here in a truly memorable hotel set in a time-warp. Whilst the decor is not 100% perfect, if it was to be modernised, this would totally ruin this gem of a Hotel. We spent 5 days in...

A great charming and historic hotel, centrally located. Having combined our weekend away with a break in Florence, this was the perfect relaxing antedote we needed. The hotel was well positionned for the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and other attractions were no more than a 10 min walk away. The hotel staff were very accomodating, and were able to recommend...

Just a note to readers, we are a military family on our third European tour and have stayed in many 3-star hotels in 12 different countries with rooms ranging from "run for your life" to "pinch me I must be dreaming." We rate this hotel a bit below average for the price and would say this is an overpriced hotel...

The Royal Victoria Hotel is understated in its grandeur. You feel transported back to the 1930s where the beautiful surroundings make you feel like a Hollywood actor/actress! I have travelled to alot of hotels in alot of different countries and never have I been more impressed with the service given than here. Every single member of staff was polite, courteous...

This must have been a great place in its day and still is! It just oozes grandeur. Okay it is a bit 'faded' round the edges but still well above average. The staff are extremely attentive and pleasant, in fact they even noticed from the registration papers that it was my birthday when i was there. I arrived home one...

Surprisingly pleasant hotel, pretty basic amenities (3 star) but everthing was better than expected. Mini suite was perfect for 2 plus 2 with balcony overlooking the Arno river. Good location to explore Pisa and 50m from main shopping street.

The hotel is perfectly positioned on the River Arno. The staff were courteous and most helpful.Take time to look into the public rooms as they are interesting, with a relaxed atmosphere. After visiting a local restaurant, we had a pleasant night on the roof terrace, with a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. A pleasure and an experience to visit...

We booked this hotel on the strength of the trip advisor comments (I think this forum is fabulous!). Hotel was just as described; oldie-worldy, museum-esque and absolutely charming. Its true that the rooms are basic, but they were big, and comfortable, and we had no noise at all (we had a room facing the back). Staff very friendly. Would definately...

We loved the hotel! It is very old, so slightly shabby around the edges, but in general it is beautiful and charming. The blonde hotel receptionist - afraid I can't recall her name- was very helpful throughout. The room was lovely - great view over the river. Comfy bed, sky tv, lovely big bath. Unfortunately, no holder for shower -...
