great hotel, good restaurant. Great territory. Great pool. But unfortunately at the reception desk we were faced with the complete incompetence of the employee, which ruined our stay. We also chose a hotel to celebrate my birthday and the employee at the reception desk (for all her mistakes she did not try to make amends in any way) never congratulated me and did not try to make amends.

Stayed a couple of nights to explore Lucca. The grounds are really lovely, and the pool is very nice (very busy when we visited but I think that’s expected in August!). We thought the location was great, a short drive or cycle to the town. The room had character, and a nice big bathroom. We would have liked to have a chest of drawers, in addition to the wardrobe. Breakfast was fine - the highlight for me was the very good warm gluten free bread roll (gluten free people will understand!). We had dinner in the restaurant one night - it was ok, but not as good as some of the restaurants in town, and more expensive. Service was varied. Most of the staff seemed a bit indifferent, but the chap who checked us out was great - friendly, helpful etc. Overall the hotel was good, the price was good value, and I think the place could be really fantastic with warmer service.

Such a beautiful hotel, and so peaceful. The grounds are impeccably kept. Pool is quite small but lots of space around it for sunbathing for perfect for cooling off. Breakfast was delicious. Staff are very friendly. Great Covid measures, felt very safe at a strange time to be travelling! Lovely location too - less than 10 mins drive in to Lucca. Wish we could have stayed for more than 1 night!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. We went to celebrate my partners birthday. We arrived from Pisa airport by car and it’s about a 30 minute drive. Beautiful villa and grounds. Check in went ok but we were disappointed that the restaurant would be closed during our stay. We were in room 110 a ground floor room in the smaller building near the pool area. The room was fine. Classically furnished which is in keeping with the age of the property. Large bed. Bathroom with no bath but a decent shower. My partner said the toiletries were a bit lacking, no body lotion or conditioner. The wardrobe a hole in the wall, was also very small but we managed as it was only a short stay. The aircon worked well which was good as it was very hot weather while we were there. Breakfast was served from 8am and wasn’t bad. You couldn’t help yourself to the buffet due to Covid but the waiting staff did their best to bring you the items you wanted and they also brought us coffee and juice to our table which was outside. The staff were all very good and the reception staff made dinner reservations for us at nearby restaurants. They were also helpful with printing our boarding passes. The grounds are lovely and there is a superb swimming pool which was perfect temperature. Plenty of nice sun beds . It all looked new. All in all we enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice if the restaurant had been open but there is a great one at the end of the road. I would recommend this hotel and be happy to return.

We really enjoyed our time here. We had spent a week touring Lucca and other parts of Tuscany, so nice to find a quiet spot with a nice pool. The room was lovely and very authentic (not a travelodge). Everywhere is spotless and all the staff went out their way to be helpful. The pool is fantastic with plenty of room for guests to find a spot and relax. When we arrived, the restaurant was out of action (not sure why) but we went up the road to the nearby restaurant that is fantastic. Lucca is also on your doorstep. Would thoroughly recommend. Observations are that you do need a car to stay here, there's no public transport and not sure about taxis. Also, while it's lovely, if you're planning on doing more stuff around Lucca, it is probably easier to stay nearby, unless someone is happy to drive and find parking.
