My husband and I have just returned from 2 nights in Lucca. We wanted a place with free parking and within walking distance to the old town. Ai Cipressi covered both and more. Gabriele and Daniele, 2 brothers run this tiny motel type B. & B. Spotlessly clean, beds were great and the continental breakfast was excellent. We forgot our adaptor for the computer and Gabriele ran across the street and bought us one and told us to keep it. We did not in case other people needed to borrow it. The rooms are large, and the decor is perhaps not as modern but everything works and the price cannot be beat. I use a walking pole for long distances and walking into the old town was a breeze. Ai Cipressi has such a nice feel about it. It is just a delightful comfortable place to stay. We had a little table outside our rooms - just right for a glass or two of vino after a long day's sightseeing. Worth taking a look at this little gem.

It’s very far from train station and old town center. It’s my fault that I didn’t pay attention that the reception is only open between 3:30pm and 6:30pm. We took bus and got here under a extremely hot weather. Luckily, we found a excellent cafe bakery next door to enjoy/cool the temperature. The manager is very nice and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. However, the bed cover looks it’s not been washed for a while. That with the desk cover were not very clean for sure. There’s a little dead bug under the comforter and bed sheet. Some dried up saliva on one of the pillow cover. The old air conditioning was ineffective. The cool air couldn’t be sent to the whole room. Although it supplied a wooden bar to put the curtain away from blocking the cold air. It only helped a little. The shower curtain was filthy. The shower gel was very bad quality. Fortunately, I brought my own soap. On the other hand, the breakfast room was bright and shining! It was opulent and refreshing. All the typical good breakfast you would expect were there. There weren’t Hot Dogs or scrambled eggs which we’re totally ok by me. The lady was very friendly and kind. She was constantly preparing the new food and serve on the table. Also, there was bike for rent with 7€ a day. We only got to use it for the late afternoon till the Puccini’s Concert was over. We were able to bike around and on the town wall for a good sightseeing and exercising. The first manager was very nice and spoke good English. He assigned us a three bed room upon checking in. And told me I could leave the luggage on it if I liked. Of course, I dud not need to. The check-out manager tried to charge me for three beds. He claimed that I requested three bed room. How ridiculous! Why would two people need three beds??? After I insisted, he finally backed down. Overall, Not until they improved the cleaness, I’m afraid that I can’t recommend this lodging for travelers.

Dear Guest, thank you for expressing your opinion about our B&B. We take this opportunity to clarify some things: The historical center and the old town is ONLY 500 meters far from our Hotel therefore 7 minutes on foot, so very very close. The station is 15 minute walk away, so really rclose. The linen is replaced with clean linen and clean and sanitized environment at every customer's change. We are honest people and was only a mistake. Greetings. The Management

We chose to stay in Lucca after travelling on from Florence and Siena before flying back from Pisa and were looking for somewhere affordable with parking close to the centre. This ticked the boxes and more. It was a really clean family run B&B and all staff were v friendly. We hired bikes from them and cycled the short distance into town and circled the walls of Lucca a few times and then went round the city. If anything wished we’d spent longer here.

We stayed for one night and loved the brothers who run the place. Great location right outside the Lucca city walls. The room was very clean, comfortable, and a great value. Breakfast was excellent and we would definitely go back again

Gabriel gave us a warm welcome and very helpful guidance on the city's highlights. Easy parking - tucked away from the street. Courtyard has lemon trees and garden furniture for relaxing on outside. Very clean, quiet and spacious ensuite bedroom with extremely comfortable bed. Very good breakfast; excellent coffee. Great base - just 5 minute walk to the Elisa gate and into the walled city. When we return to Lucca we will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
