This place is a real treat! Lucca is a wonderful small city with lots of great sites of interest. The hotel is perfectly situated to visit them with ease and the hotel staff is exceedingly helpful and gracious. They even presented my celiac husband with a gluten-free basket of goodies every morning for breakfast! You won't regret staying here.

We stayed here for 2 nights in September on our way to Florence to drop our daughter off for a semester abroad. The hotel is like staying at a favorite relatives home. They were warm, welcoming and helpful. From the moment we stepped from our taxi they were there to help us. Restaurant recommendations, activities, taxis, trains etc. My husband...

I am so glad I found this hotel and decided to stay. A great price for a charming hotel with exceptional service. It has been tastefully restored with traditional Tuscan decor. The owner met me at my taxi and took my bags to my room, a small touch but so welcome given there are only a few train stations with...

Our first trip to Lucca! Mario and the rest of his staff could not have been more delightful and helpful. His son even loaned me a cord for my IPad. The rooms were large, clean and quiet. The breakfast were very delicious to start your day and adventure of Luca. Truly pleasant.

Driving inside the walls of Lucca is challenging to say the least. So when my wife and I arrived pulled up to the hotel our first question was how do we park and unload. Have no fear, Mario popped out of the hotel, took my bags into the hotel and drove me and my car to the offsite parking....he was...

This is a charming, family-run hotel within the city walls of Lucca. The owner and his family were fantastic hosts, helping us book restaurants, hire bikes and even helping to park the car (which is crucial in the tiny streets of Lucca!) It was an absolute pleasure to stay here, and I can highly recommend it to anyone wanting to...

We traveled with two kids ages 16 and 18 and it’s always hard to keep on a hotel budget. Two rooms are usually out of the question because of cost. Hotel Palazzo Alexander is the perfect option. Close enough to Pisa, our primary destination and Luca is an incredibly beautiful town with great food. I think it might often be...

Stayed in two interconnecting rooms and whilst a little dated, beautiful hotel, gracious owners, who attended to everything and remembered our preferences at breakfast and the like. They treated the children as guests when other concierge and receptions couldn't give a damn. I had an outstanding traffic fine from Bologna which was even take care of as this was my...

My girlfriend and I stayed in this wonderfully appointed hotel on our way to a Tuscan wedding. I don’t think I have ever experienced such friendly and helpful service in any other hotel I have stayed in around the world. Every time we saw the owner or his son they could not do enough for us. Lucca is a wonderful...
