We thorougly recommend this excellent albergo. The staff were all friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We were the lucky ones with a balcony situated off our bathroom. A real loo with a view! The room was well appointed as was the location in the heart of the city. And oh what a delightful city it was to explore. Our sleep... More

Small and friendly hotel inside the walls of Lucca. The staff helped us through the road system and parked the car for us so we immediately felt welcome. The room was excellent and we were there in very hot weather in August but had no difficulty with either air-conditioning or room lighting. Great situation for walking round Lucca but we... More

We travelled by train to Lucca and the hotel was an easy walk from the station. It is a comfortable hotel and well placed for visiting this small city (everything is walking distance). The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. I would agree with previous reviews that the restrictions on when the air conditioning could be... More

The Albergo San Martino is a very small hotel inside the walls of the ancient town of Lucca. Because we arrived with a tour group, we had to park outside the walls and drag out luggage through the gate and a few blocks to the hotel. Some might view that as an inconvenient attribute of the hotel; I thought it... More

This B & B was everthing we needed for our overnight stop in Lucca. It's in a great location within the walled town, was easy to find, had its own parking nearby, very bright and welcoming, userfriendly, quiet for sleeping, topped off with a delicious homemade breakfast which can be eaten indoors or outdoors. . . . what more could... It wasn't the cheapest place to stay but certainly was good value for money. It is in a quiet location even though it's next to the main square ( it is tucked away in side street). The hotel is easily navigable from the train station on foot (approx. 500m - see google earth). We had a 1st floor room which... More

We have spend three very nice days in Albergo San Martino in Lucca. The kindly service, the cleanness and encology sense, the wonderful breakfast (fantastic home made cakes by the owners wife!!!, super cafe!, etc., etc.), the cute style in the decoration and details, the central but quiet location, etc., etc. I would like to highly recommend this Albergo to... This was a great place to stay with wonderful service from staff and the owners. Lovely outdoor area and excellent breakfast. Just a lovely homely feel and highly recommended. We would return! All visitors should take the walk around the wall that surrounds this charming medieval town.

WE have an excellent memory of our stay there, despite the heat (compensated thanksfully by the air conditionning). People were extremely helpfull : not only flexible to adjust our mistakes in reservations (we had reserved the wrong day) but also to help direct you to the parking and restaurants in Lucca. Piece of advise : if you come with a... More

Had a great stay at this centrally-located, clean and attractive hotel. We were impressed by the friendly staff and the delicious and large breakfast. The hotel is a few steps from the Plaza San Martino and one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the city...Excellent even on a sweltering day.
