Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Giapone Hotel is a good hotel if you are on travel to one of the islands Corsica or Sardinia. Breakfast is served from 6AM, which is great if you need to catch the boat. The rooms are fine and clean. Free parking is possible on the street after 20.00h

Really the worst place where I have been. Bugsbed in my bed. To be avoid, if you stay here and the day after you have red dots on your skin now you know why. The are doing some works and the dust is everywhere.

The "parking" part of the title is misleading in as much as they do have parking underground but at 12 euro per night. Luckily we were outside unloading some bags when another person freed a space pretty close on the public street which is free after 8pm. WE did not sleep well because there was a bar just up the street with very noisy clients and as the hotel has single-glazed windows, it was as if the rowdy guys were just outside our window. Then the street cleaners woke us before 5am. The room was small but clean and it was evident that they had just changed the doors of our room and those nearby as there were traces left on the walls that still needed to be plastered after the door installation so maybe very soon they intend also to change the windows to a better quality. Breakfast was very very basic. It's close to the ferry port but there are better choices for a similar price not much further away as we found out upon our return to Livorno two weeks later.

Good position on the main boulevard, with bus station in front for all the directions, clean rooms with new bathrooms and air conditioning. Normal breakfast, per total is ok...especially if you want to discover the city.

If you are taking a morning ferry to one of the islands, the hotel has a very good location and an underground garage nearby. As mentioned in other comments, the spots are rather small, which is a no surprise in Italy, but you can still fit in a suv. However, if you’d actually like to sleep, try finding another place. The beds date back to the times when the building was brand new (the 50s maybe?), they are broken, and are closer to a hammock than anything else. If you decide to use them, book a chiropractor appointment at the same time. The windows date back to the same time as the beds, and no, they do not isolate you from the outside noise - there is a busy street right below full of scooters and cars honking, as well as a bar and a restaurant, both open till 1am (or longer) and full of happy customers. It’s important to mention that you actually even want to have the windows open, since the air conditioning is in no better shape than the beds or windows. To sum up: hot, loud and awfully uncomfortable. But surprisingly clean and the staff is friendly ;)

it is important what do you expect when you stay at a hotel. i was looking a warm, quite, clean room. so, for me it was a perfect place. nice friendly people, very simple but a clean room. as they gave me a room at the 5th floor it was also quite enough. all for a reasonable price.

Nice old hotel and clean rooms in centre of the city.. but that´s it They offer box garage which is very narrow and difficult to park inside, And they have got very very unfriendly reception old staffs, they speak only Italian and not willing to answer any of your question(Uncooperative) and there was a man in breakfast service, i asked him for some croissant as there were all empty and it was just 8:15 in the morning.. he said to me if have a problem.. i should take whatever is there in the buffet and that is no go for a guest...

Location is good for shopping and dining. Two km away from Livrono train station and around 20 minutes from Pisa airport by taxi. The price was reasonable. The room and bathroom was clean. The staff are friendly. There is no kettle in the room. Different rooms have different settings and orientations. There are free wifi but at times poor however it was acceptable.

Typical of an Italian 3 star hotel. Clean, safe, friendly and in a perfect location right on the main shopping street of via grande. I have been coming to Livorno for many years and stayed in numerous places in the city. This is my favourate. Livorno is much better than Pisa.

Booked in here for a music festival. Great location, around the corner from the local markets and not far from the sea. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Room not fancy but clean and comfortable. A good experience and I would stay again. I would definitely return to Liverno to enjoy the public baths by the sea, the markets and great restaurants. I really liked that this was not an overly touristy town.
