Visited Il Romito 2 years go and had dinner twice. It was a wonderful experience in a place with wonderful view. This time the experince not so good I am sorry to say. The tast of the food was blend, not very fresh and simply not very enjoyable (we had deveral different dishes). I would describe the food as ”simple”, unfortunately. Maybe it will ve better next time?!
Don't trust the pictures... the hotel is far off the images. Rooms are old fashioned, not really clean and even worth is the bathroom. Personal is rude. The sea view and parking may be the only plus. Been lodged there by our employers we stayed, but would have moved away if on our own.
The hotel is about 15 minutes from the centre of Livorno. The room very small but clean. the view of the sea is amazing. The staff doesn't speak English well, sometimes you need to use hands to explain them what you need, however it was good value hotel.
it is worth a visit for the view.our meal was good but the service could have been better.also the spaghetti allo scoglio wasn't hot.i suspect it wasn't served immediately.the steamed fish was excellent and so was my pasta stuffed with cheese and pears.it was hot.the apple dessert was also good.
We had lunch here having travelled by road from Livorno along the scenic coast road. Lots of people in the main restaurant (pizzas in the bar) enjoying fresh fish & pasta. Great views out of picture windows. There is a terrace also. Nice service with friendly staff - complimentary glass of Prosecco helped our menu choices and both pasta dishes were superb.
