We just didn’t know we had to book a slot for the pool and fitness and that the pool was part of the spa at a fee. Hopefully the receptionist agreed we book a slot at the pool if we were staying outside. But we couldn’t use the gym as fully booked and we could only go once to the pool. We would have known in advance we would have booked in advance. But hotel is very nice, well located. Rooms are well decorated and comfortable. Just be careful some are very dark with a window on a courtyard with nearly no light. The staff is very pleasant. I highly recommend.
I last stayed at the Palazzo Castri in 2017. Nothing has changed, it’s still a great stay with a fabulous team who understand the individual needs of their guests. Breakfast great, loads of choice. A little further out of the centre but accessible on foot (just round the corner from San Lorenzo and 5 minutes from San Marco). Lovely to be able to return in the afternoon to rest in the garden and take a dip in outdoor pool (a rarity in central Florence). Will definitely return as Florence is such a joy and a place you can keep coming back to.
The hotel was exactly as described, if not better. Upon arrival we were told our twin room was no longer available which we were annoyed about, however reception took our cases of us and told us to come back in an hour. When we returned they had upgraded us and sorted us out a bigger room with 2 beds. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The decor is lovely, rooms are comfortable and bright. The pool was an added bonus and we loved being able to cool down in the afternoons in 38 degrees. Breakfast was lovely and afternoon tea and the pool was a nice touch. The hotel is local to the train station which was handy for our days out, and close to lots of restaurants and shops. We checked out at 6am and the receptionist had prebooked us a taxi the night before and even had a breakfast box ready. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend,…
Only 10 minutes walk from the train station, and a few minutes walk from the "center" of Florence. We recommend a room with a view over the beautiful garden. Very good and helpful service. Nice breakfast too.
This hotel was absolutely fantastic, the location was amazing within walking distance to all the main tourist attractions, the pool was such a lovely addition. The hotel was very modern with amazing amenities and the staff were super helpful and superb too. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone
The Palazzo Castri exceeded my expectations! It is a beautiful modern hotel with excellent facilities, in a good location for seeing the sights of Florence. We had two adjoining rooms, which was perfect. We loved the spa, the garden area, and the blue-lit showers in the rooms. We liked being able to sit and have a snack and a drink on the terrace. We also loved the hotel cat! The location is good, close to station (though streets have narrow pavements, just to be aware that they are a bit awkward with luggage). Within walking distance 5-10 minutes of main sights/restaurants etc. Staff at the hotel were great (I don’t normally name anyone but Camilla in particular was so friendly and professional)! Breakfast was great, with lots of interesting things on offer. My only criticism if any would be that spa access isn’t included in every room (one of our two rooms had to pay extra for it), and the other one is a minor matter whereby reception kindly agreed to book us an airport taxi, but did not confirm when they had booked (which we felt could maybe have been done with a note under our door) so we kept having to go back to see if the staff in question was there so we could ask. All in all, a truly delightful hotel which I would highly recommend, and would love to return to!…
This Hotel is 10 mins walk from the Station, the Duomo, 5 to the market central, 12/15 mins to Ponte vecchio. A small hotel with fabulous facilities, great friendly staff, rooms are air conditioned. Spotless ! 5 star accommodation and service! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. They even did us a box breakfast to go due to early flight!
Palazzo Castri felt like an oasis in the middle of busy and very hot Florence. My room was superb with a gorgeous view of the Duomo. The food at breakfast and dinner was lovely and the staff really friendly. Loved it!
I’d been to stay 5 years ago and had a lovely time then, so decided to come back with my fiancé this year. The hotel is in a really good location - close to the train station and only a short walk to lots of restaurants, sights and shops. It’s also very modern. Upon arrival we were told that the swimming pool had to be booked, and could only be used for one 90 minute block each day - something which was not in place 5 years ago. We were very taken aback and discussed why this was necessary, particularly as there were times in the day when no one was in the pool. It would’ve been better if there was a limit to the amount of people in the pool at one time, rather than having to book a timed slot. Most people just want a quick dip to cool off rather than to spend lengthly amounts of time in the pool. It was 38/39 degrees celsius every day so having access to the swimming pool was very important. Our room was overlooking the garden which was very picturesque. Only downside was the shower smelt funny - as though it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a while. We would’ve also appreciated it if we could’ve lowered the air conditioning temperature below 19 degrees as we were very hot at night. If you are looking for a modern hotel close to amenities, then this one is for you. Don’t rely on having access to the pool!…
Perfect oasis in Florence, the exclusive suite is the way to go if you are traveling with friends or family. Very comfortable, luxurious and great value. Spa is a great escape from the heat of summer. Breakfast is good, restaurant is reasonable. Close to everything. Train station only minutes away but be aware streets are very narrow so no fun with luggage. Center of town 20 minutes away easy walk. Staff is great.
