My daughter and I spent one night here as the bed and breakfast we had been in was full when we decided to spend an extra night in Florence. Our room was very neat and clean and Silvia was a gracious hostess. She offered us suggestions and gave us great directions to get where we were going. It was close...

Wow, what a great stay! CHECK IN - Such a warm welcome by Silvia! She speaks very good english and I was surprised she spoke to me in french as well when she saw that I'm from Montreal. I had initially booked a double with separate bathroom but she upgraded me to one with private bathroom (since one wasn't taken)...

Had a lovely stay, Silvia was very helpful, providing a map and pointing out where places were. Breakfast was great. Room was very clean. A bit of a trek from the train station and the city centre but the hotel was in a quiet location.

Good B&B very well located, with spacious and clean room. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The only thing that dislike me is that it could be better preserved (some walls was kind of peeling off). Anyway, the positive points make it worth!

Very close to the major attractions. We had the street-facing suite, but the windows are well insulated and we had no noticeable street noise. The room is enormous and would make a good base of exploring Florence, though we were there only one night. The shower is the smallest we had in all of Italy; if you are the least...

We stayed 3 nights at this B&B and it was a very nice experience. The location is great, 10 mins walking distance to the major attractions and was relatively less noisy during night. The owner, Silva is very friendly and helpful in giving directions and suggestions on food and where to go! Her homemade muffin was superb as a breakfast...

Stayed here with my mum and we were absolutely delighted with the hostess Silvia. My mum had put a towel under her pillow one night as she prefers two but hadn't mentioned it to the hostess. When we came back in the evening another pillow had been left :) Just a little detail but makes you feel really looked after....

I stayed at La Notte Blu hotel for 17 days on the business trip, and it was the nicest experience. Silvia was always there if you needed her, the room were very clean, and the breakfast made me feel like home, with fresh bread made by the staff. A very peaceful experience, at a very clean and quite hotel. The...

We originally booked into the B&B Soggiorno Pezzati for two nights, however due to there being a problem with the bathroom we were moved to La Notte Blu. This hotel was absolutely lovely, the rooms were gorgeous and very clean. There a very nice breakfast and the staff were brilliant. We thought the location was very good and we would...

We were welcomed by Silvia the moment we walked thru the door. She is a wonderful, attentive hostess and provided us with anything we asked for from wine glasses to restaurant reservations, also lots of tips on places to dine and times to visit different attractions with a map and directions. After traveling 20 hours we were so happy to...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
