To start with a very nice lady with a smile always, taking a step above and beyond to answer all questions, even giving directions on what & where to go. A clean place. Fair prices with specious room comparing to the rest of the hotels in area. Location in the middle of the city close to the main sites to... More

The location is great - not too far from the major tourist attractions, a pleasant walk away from the Ponte Vecchio. The room was very clean, the photos on the wall interesting, and the bathroom spacious. The owner was super helpful with recommendations about the best places to eat nearby - and her recommendations turned out to be fabulous. Breakfast... More

This is a hard one... On one hand I fully agree with all the previous comments about the helpfulness and the charm of the owner/manager, on the other hand, if I really want to be helpful for my fellow travelers, I would struggle to give more than two points for this place. Why? Very simple: you don't get what you... More

We stayed 3 nights in this nice B&B managed by Silvia, a very charming and welcoming lady - and this really makes all the difference. She welcomed us with a free map and a lot of tips about where to go. Silvia really was lovely and she made us feel welcome and gave us some good advice about Florence. I loved the building, the room was comfortable and a little extra care put into the breakfast. It was a nice walk to the centre and plenty of shops and restaurants along the way.I would definitely stay here again.

The hostess is the nicest we've had in Europe. Upon arrival she took a map and circled all of the recommended places to see, do and eat, (Including a our new favorite restaurant, only 2 minutes walk from the B&B). After eating at this restaurant, she called and said we were with her and we got a discount on our... More

My girlfriend and me stayed here for three nights during our trip to Florence. Before we arrived Silvia contacted me to ask when we would be arriving and on arrival she was there to greet us. Silvia could not have been more friendly or helpful, welcoming us in and then showing where to go during our visit. The accommodation itself... More

We are a family of 5 traveling through Europe. La Notte Blu was a wonderful place for us to stay while in Florence. Silvia greeted us warmly, and helped direct us to sights and places to eat around Florence. She was sweet and friendly and helpful throughout our stay. On a first look, it was looking little bit old and outdated. But when we left we thought it was a decent place to stay. There were pros and cons as expected. Pros first: The owner and the staffs were excellent. The host gave some good tips for the restaurants, transport and site seeing which were very valuable. The location... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
