This place is horrible. They text me at 3am US time verifying our stay and of course I was asleep so I responded at 8am when I woke up. The woman was rude and mad I responded hours later and I let her know she text me US time 3 AM, so how could I respond. We get to the hotel where it drops you off in a creepy alley and you have to get buzzed in. Then you go into a creepy elevator you go upstairs and the man gives you three keys one for your room, one for the front door and one for another door. We go inside and the room was small, hard mattress and horrible pillows. There were bugs in the bathroom and when you flushed the toilet, it shook the whole room. I guess the only positive is your view and the ac works. Reminds me of a hostel. If you have ever seen the movie “just married” when she goes to the hotel with the roach….Yeah, this is pretty much it. There was also another couple who had to sit in the small waiting area because their room didn’t have a chair. We left and stayed at an amazing Hyatt. NO THANKS. Careful believing some of the pictures, they don’t show the bathroom for a reason.…
This is the second time I stay at this property and it did not disappoint. the location is perfect overlooking the PonteVecchio. we took the too with balcony and just sitting there people watching and enjoying the view is a treat. it is super clean and Lisa was so nice and kind from the booking stage all the way till checkout. I definitely recommend this place and I can’t wait to visit again.
Very unprofessional and bad attitude! We arrived and they collected payment and city tax in cash, then informed us our room had been supposedly upgraded. We inquired, how is that possible since we booked the only one with balcony and river view. She tells us that, oh, that room is not available due to construction. I have a bigger one for you on other side of river. We asked if it had balcony with river view. She tells us it does not. We agreed to look at it. We had to haul our luggage with us about 300 meters. The apartment was disgusting and smelled horribly. We told her this wasn’t going to work. She wasn’t happy about it , but did give us our money back after we went back to the office to get our refund. There was no reason she could not have informed us of this before our arrival so that we could have time to make other arrangements. She messaged us a couple times to inquire about our arrival time, so why not mention that our room booked was not available?…
I called this B&B after the nightmare experience of having to drive in Firenze city center and getting stranded with my daughter from the B&B Olga House. It was almost 20:30 and the hotel assistant who understood how stressed I was, gave me directions over the phone on how to get to their place. She did not hang up till i reached their place. Mr Antonio came to rescue me and my daughter allowing us to get to his last available room at a reasonable price: he could have easily overcharged me for how desperate I was but he did not. The room even had the windows just on Ponte Vecchio. In the night the neighbor was a bit noisy but the kindness and attention of Mr Antonio made it irrelevant to us. He recommended us to dine at the restaurant Da Ganino in the city center. That was an exquisite recommendation too. the day after, he also allowed us to leave our baggage in the B&B to allow us to go easily sight seeing in the city. I would strongly recommend this B&B to anyone. It is managed by very trustworthy, professional and caring persons . Grazie Signor Antonio per averci salvato quella sera. Non ce lo dimenticheremo mai.…
The location is fantastic. Situated on the river bank and within short walking distance of the top attractions. The hosts take great care in seeing that all is ok. Very welcoming at check-in. Room is a bit small, but exceptionally clean. Very good heating system with an automatic centralized unit and an individually controlled air-conditioning unit as a top-up.
The location couldn’t be more central. It’s perfect. We had double room with view. Bed is comfortable, cotton sheets. Absolutely lovely service from Millie. Room clean, shower (no bath). But, breakfasts are not provided (which is OK and made clear by the hosts), and I thought we’d be able to self cater. Yes, you do get a fridge, but no glasses, plates, cutlery or kettle. Problem! I asked for a kettle, which was immediately supplied. Balcony was lovely, but got bitten to death by mosquitos, which in November I wasn’t expecting. There are no proper curtains, as a previous reviewer observed, but there are shutters which work if you drag outside furniture out of the way. So, if you come prepared you’ll be fine!
Amazing location short walk to a lot of the main attractions in Florence. The place was a little hard to find but eventually we found it. The room was nice and the bed not bad either the only downfall is the smell of the Pontevecchio in the hallway of the room. A lot of people were complaining about air conditioning, ours worked perfectly fine and had no problems.
Nice location. Huge flat overlooking the river. Wish we had known there was no aircon in this room. Sweltering in spite of two fans provided. Unable to sleep. It is not a hotel as we expected. Very dark entrance with cage lift. Perhaps Booking.com should be updated.
This hotel could not be more centrally located being in the group of buildings that go to make up the approach to the Pontevecchio itself and backing on to the Uffizi. It is not difficult to find - you just need to look for the brass plaques by the door facing the Arno. Rooms, or at vleast our room which was not river facing, are well-equipped with wi-fi and flat screen TV. All seemed perfectly clean. I could not imagine a better location for anyone visiting Florence for the first time. The only downside for us was the staircase up to the reception area (or the arthritic lift alternative) but, hey, it's good to stretch the old legs occasionally.
The room is not in the Pontevecchio Relais location. It is an extra 7 minutes walk. We knew that so it was no problem. We’ve only stayed for one night. The room is very big, with kitchen, diner area and bathroom. The only problem was the noise of the cars, motors and people, that were passing right next to the window. I have a light sleep so for me it was a big problem.
