This place is really good! Its right next to the Duomo so you cannot ask for a better location. The rooms are excellent. They are big and clean and the bathroom is really big. I really enjoyed my stay here. The only issue that one could possibly face is that there never anyone at the reception. But apart from that...

The hotel is located one small block from the Battistero and the Duomo, and about 10 minutes walk from the bridge. It is also located only 4 blocks from the station. Very well located indeed. The guest house is actualy an old apartment house (flat) turned to a hotel. The rooms are completely independent, with is own bathroom. My room...

It was a pleasant surprise for our stay during our honeymoon at this B&B. Extremely convenient to travel all main sites and SMN station by foot. The owner was also very hospitable and allow us free use of computer to book our tickets in advance to Musuems. Can't think of any better accomodation for this price.

I can think of no better place to stay in Florence than Tourist House Battistero. Its location is excellent, 15 min walk from the SMN Train station, right next to the Duomo and in the heart of the city. It is also the most reasonably priced accommodation given the amenities during my extensive search for housing in Florence. It is...

Tourist House Battistero Florence - A very "homey" feeling can be observed the moment you get to your room. There is an attached fold out bed besides the main bed, a big bathroom, a small kitchenette with a stove, pots, microwave oven and a kettle. The room is quite spacious as well and very relaxing. You will find all the...

This hotel was comfortable and in a good location in Firenze. The inn keepers were not on location but very accomodating. We stored our luggage on the last day and they provided us with a key to return and retreive our things! It was a good value for the money.

We stayed at the Battistero for 3 nights during our visit to Florence. The location is simply awesome- 2 minutes walk from the Duomo and bell tower, and short walking distance to academia and Ufici (we didn't book tickets in advance, so took the advice of Gabriella at the reception, arrived at the Ufici at 8:00 and were in by...

This is a nice hotel close to the Duomo area. Clean room with a good bathroom and air conditioning and internet that works. The staff were nice and helpful but not there all the time. When I arrived no one was there and the door was locked. A phone number was taped to the door, but I didn't have to...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
