Very nice place, 10 minutes walk from train station, quite area, nice rooms, very comfy bed, the owners were helpful, breakfast was good choice of croissants, coffee, tea, juice, some ham and cheese - but the same every day; overall I would recommend this B&B for a city break.

This place has value for money. We stayed for 3 night's. Yes it's a budget hotel but a very pleasant and decorative. The rooms and interior is exactly like in the photos. Most importantly it's 15 minutes walk from SMN train station. Room was clean , had all necessities in its own nice way. Cozy bed , small table ,...

Great little B&B. We had a few issues spotting it at first and then getting in, but was worth it! Room are very cool, quirky and comfortable. Hosts we warm and friendly and gave us a map and highlighted where we should go and tips. Nice easy walking distance from the train station. Would recommend to others!

Im not one to write a complaint, but after our terrible experience I feel as though I should share. Firstly our arrival.. no communication between the hotel and guests. We booked the hotel through booking.com and received no information from the hotel. The hotel is inside a large building and guests need a code to get in, after buzzing the...

We stayed for 3 nights and I could not find anything to complaint about it. The room is spacious. The bed is comfortable. The air-con work very well. Shower is strong. Breakfast is more than adequate. Staff is very friendly and caring. Nicola who help us check in, spend tons of time to answer my questions about the city. Every...

We had a 3 night stay here in May 2015. Despite the initial hiccups (we had trouble finding the building, and then Agoda screwed up our reservation), I must say we had a pretty good stay. The whole B&B is decked out in a very attractive quirky design which makes you feel glad to return at the end of the...

Funky little B&B within walking distance to the train station. We arrived late but had emailed the hotel and were given the access code to the building and told where to find the keys. Upon entering our room we were delighted to find that it was exactly like the pictures we had seen online. The bed was super comfortable and...

The rooms were spacious, by European standards. But finding the place, if you blink you will miss it. The host was fantastic and so very helpful. We walked into the main part of the city everyday and it was close to the train line. Breakfast was good and the host was so attentive in making us coffee every morning. Would...

The host, Carlos, was really welcoming and helpful even before we got there! All email enquiries were replied promptly. We stayed there for 6 nights, although we had trouble with the shower at the beginning, the problem was fixed on the same day as we notified Carlos. It is within walking distance to santa Maria novella station, so it was...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
