My experience at the de' Benci B&B was entirely positive. I loved the location--across the street from the great Piazza Santa Croce. A bit of a walk from the train station, but not at all difficult to find. The elevator was wonderful. My room was large, well lit and comfortable, with a desk and chairs as well as a very... More

We had a wonderful 5 days at De'Benci B&B last May. It is a beaqutiful and well appointed oasis in the most lively and central area of Florence. Carlo and his Mom are gracious hosts who make sure guests have a wonderful experience of Florence. The rooms are absolutley gorgeous and quiet (considering the busy resturaunts and bars only 3... I stayed at De' Benci B&B for 4 nights in April and it was a wonderful stay. Both Carlo and his mother were friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. There is a bar located below the the B&B, so street noise can be loud, but I didn't have any problems once I... More

We stayed 5 nites at De Benci and loved everything about it: location, spotless, large bedroom and bathroom. We particularly enjoyed Carlo's (proprietor) friendly, charming and welcoming smiles. He always checked in with us to see if we needed anything and at the same time, gave us privacy to come and go as we pleased. It was like having our... More

We spent 2 nights at De'Benci Suites in the middle of our honeymoon in Italy. We actually walked from the train station in Florence to the B&B--about a 20 minute walk. The elevator was welcome after dragging our luggage around. Carlo was so gracious, as were the people who served breakfast. He was helpful in making museum reservations. But if... More

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights during our honeymoon in Italy and it was wonderful. Carlo, the B&B owner is very friendly and gracious. We stayed here on a weekend visit to Florence in April. The rooms were lovely and spacious. The place was clean and breakfast was OK. The only niggle was dragging our case from the car park which is some 150 m away and the fact that we had a room on the front of the building and on the Saturday... More

This B&B proved to be an excellent choice for our three night stay in Florence. The suites are large and very comfortable. The bathrooms even have over-sized stall showers. There is a small elevator, which is very convenient for bringing luggage up to the 3rd floor. The windows are double paned to keep out the noise from the street below.... More

De Benci B&B in Florence is a small gem. It is on the third floor of an apt building (with an elevator) in the historic center, a great location, and it is beautiful. It has recently been renovated and there are only six rooms, but each is spacious, tastefully decorated and has a very modern bathroom. Marco, the owner is... More

Large clean rooms in a great location. Owners helped with booking museums and tour, very friendly. Great bathroom and free internet access. Location means that it will be a little noisy at night.....good continental brakfast. Be aware that there are two numbers on de Benci with the same address.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart of the old city of Florence, just between Piazza Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria, there is De Benci b&b, bed and breakfast in Florence, ideal base for visiting one of the most beautiful cities on earth and its art.The visit, the discovery of the capital of the Renaissance already begins within the walls of De Benci b&b.The atmosphere is very charming, stylish and romantic: you will be welcomed into elegantly furnished suites with every modern comfort (air conditioning/heating, private bathroom in room, digital lcd tv - DTV, internet connection, Etc.).The bed and breakfast is on the fourth floor of an ancient building (dating back to 1300) with the recent installation of modern lift. The thick and textured interior walls are painted rose. The doors are as light as ivory. Very wide windows let the light go in. The typical Tuscan floor and the ancient wooden-beam ceiling enrich the entire structure. In all over the place you can find small details in characteristic stone (i.E. Pietra serena), in ancient brick or in dark wrought iron and brass that decorate the environment, but soft colour and scent of wood reign over all. Every detail has been chosen with great care, taste and passion. ... more   less
