The hotel is located in a suburb of Florence, about 20 minutes by tram from the central station and the beginning of the historic center of Florence. At first glance the hotel is a modern if not bland suburban hotel. We stayed here because it was a Hilton property. The rooms are small for a suburban hotel but clean and with all the necessary comforts. The issue with the hotel is the poor customer service at the reception and the overall lack of maintenance in the common areas. There is a laundry facility that is handy but it is very stinky and not well maintained. The pipes in the laundry area were so smelly we had to run the water and keep the door open… simply nasty. The carpet on the first floor, in the common areas from the elevator to the room (106) was extremely dirty and when I pointed out to the receptionist that it should at least be vacuumed, she seemed shocked by the request. When we returned in the afternoon, they had vacuumed the entrance to our room but nothing else… just dirt all the way to the elevator. I asked, a Diamond member for a late check out and the person at the reception, Massimo, flat out refused, then relented slightly when I said that it was a benefit of our status. He gave us one extra hour with the excuse that they had a group coming. We met friends at the adjoining park for a party and could see the entrance of the hotel and for the four following hours no tour buses, no large groups arrived. He just didn’t want to offer us the courtesy of a late check out. The hotel has way too many negatives for us to consider ever staying there again and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.…
The team at the reception is friendly and attentive. The service at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner is excellent. Rooms are clean and I felt safe in this pandemic days. Thanks to all the staff!
After about 15 years of visiting this hotel twice a year we sadly say goodbye to Giorgio who provided warm, professional service in the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner. We will miss his good humored, attentive service, and him as a friend we've come to know over the years. Giorgio, enjoy your well-deserved retirement. Regarding the rooms, we like them well enough to keep returning. Clean, comfortable bed, spacious by European standards. Well worth the cost. 15 minutes by tram to the airport, and 20 minutes to the center of Florence. Look forward to visiting in January. Francesco and Romina will still be there taking good care of us.
Hotel is very outdated, old rooms, dirty carpet, rust in the bathrooms. Overall very disappointing and not what you expect from a Hilton. Would not recommend staying here. But I guess they are trying to kill this as long as they can before renovating
A very big thankyou to the Hilton Garden Inn Novoli staff for making our stay a wonderful experience - from ordering taxis, saying hello to us outside of the hotel to helping with our multiple bookings and the male receptionist who helped blow birthday balloons :-) A special thanks also to Irina and everyone on the reception desk for providing a first class service and being very flexible. Their kindness and support was very much appreciated. Thankyou all again. Will definitely revisit for the exceptional service alone!!!
