If you are looking for a place of trust, this is not the right one !!! We stayed in the street for a delay of 15mn, which had already been previously informed and consented, but we arrived at Piccarda and stuck our noses in the door! After a thousand and one unsuccessful contact attempt, we saw our reservation being canceled...

Great place to stay in Florence. Walk to SMN train station. Exit to the right of SMN and keep walking straight. The BnB is along this street, although the street name changes once you cross the main road. Hostess was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Very clean and fragrant rooms (exactly like the pictures), breakfast was self-serve...

We really liked our stay at this B&B, even though it was a bit far from the center (10 to 15 minutes walk). Rooms were charmingly decorated with items that gave you the feeling of being at your own home. Everything was clean and cute. Though the bathroom was a bit small, it was okay cuz everything else was perfect....

My husband and I recently stayed here for 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Rooms are beautifully furnished, very clean, well lit and well ventilated. There is a small garden at the back, perfect for sipping your morning coffee/tea. Francesca, the owner, is very helpful and welcoming. She helped us with our questions and a map. You can...

We recently stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it! Pros: Francesca is very helpful and welcoming; the room is small but perfectly clean and comfortable; a good selection of breakfast items; good wifi; close to the train station and well priced. Cons: a little further than anticipated to walk into central Florence (15-20mins) and there are currently roadworks ongoing...

Great little find just 10 minutes walk from the station. The host Barbara was wonderful, a mine of information and so helpful. It's more a serviced apartment than a B and B but you can always bring your own food in to the kitchen as it is a continental help yourself breakfast. Lovely clean rooms with ensuite bathrooms. The shower...

The B&B is a very nice place. To find it for the first time, you have to look for the numbers on the buildings. There is no big sign outside. We have been welcomed warmly. Our room was quite small - but enough for a three-nights-stay. Breakfast is self-service and typlical Italian style - sweet things and coffee. You can...

Good location and great value for money, especially for August, lovely owner and a great garden / patio for breakfast. 3 min walk from the station and city centre, bars and restaurants near bar but your not in the middle of it.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
