There is not much to add to previous reviews. We stayed in one of the appartments as a family. It offers the space necessary to keep kids happy and some privacy to the parents. There are a lot of restaurants and the Accademia right around the corner. The only suggestion I would have for the hotel owners: It might be...

Thank you very very much!! We will try to remove the Suite number from the keys, but I'm afraid that many Guests will forget it if not written.....we will make an experiment in these low season months and see how it goes. Hope to have you with us again. My best greetings for a Merry Christmas and an exceptional 2012!...

The three days I spent here were delightful. Beautiful spacious rooms, excellent facilities and generous and helpful hosts made this the perfect place to stay in central Florence. I would not hesitate to come back to Florence and the same can be said for the Residence Hilda. perfect place to stay in a perfect city!

Perfect for families! They provide everything you may need! Our son broke some plates in tje kitchen and they did not charge us at all! They replaced everything! We asked for a baby cot and we found also a baby chair for the food! The super market is near and the duomo too! You don't need a car, it is...

Thank you very much for your nice words. Of course we do not charge some dish or glass broken, it happens to everyone, not only to children (it happens to me at home, quite frequently unfortunately!). Hope to have your beautiful family again with us. A Merry Christmas and my best greetings for a terrific 2012, Valentina Vigiani

Our daughter and her husband stayed here last year and banned us from checking out any other hotel on the internet for our stay in Florence. We now know why - the apartment was spacious and modern with every facility needed for our visit and the location was perfect.

On this, my 5th visit to Florence, I stayed at Residence Hilda for 6 nights. It was perfect and I will definitely stay there again. It was affordably priced, and I had a nicely furnished, large and spotlessly clean apartment. The staff was very helpful and the groceries I requested were in my apartment when I arrived. The location was...

We travelled as a family group of 5 (2 adults, 3 children 9,7,2). Taking our children to Italy for the first time to visit family. We decided that Florence was too culturally important to miss during our stay, so we elected to spend 2 nights at Residence Hilda. What a delight, from the cleanliness and modern fitout of the rooms...

We stayed here in September 2011 and it was absolutely fantastic. Our apartment was enormous, with a separate kitchen/living area, huge bathroom etc. the location is great, close to everything & there is a great deli, shops, gelaterias etc close by for supplies. The staff are so friendly & helpful & when they heard it was my husband's birthday the...

Excellent facility, location and staff right in the centre of Florence. We were in Suite 10 which was a superior suite and had plenty of space for two and all the facilities required for a short (and probably a longer one) stay in the centre of Florence.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
