This place is incredible. The fact that it isn't an enormous (and therefore expensive, and BORING) hotel, makes it better. It has a courtyard, and some rooms have terraces! Try finding that at a hotel........ or the incredible artwork - thoughtfully displayed. This place is not just a random room in a building - what you see on the Palazzo's...

Its not a hotel, so visitors kindly be aware its a room in a building, the room which was a suite was spacious and tastefully decorated, it had all the comforts but no warmth. There is a constant rumbling of heating pipes which sounded like an underground train. We only stayed one night and moved promptly to another hotel. Its...

Excellent rooms and environment. Owners very friendly and helpful. Quiet at night. They recommended a Restauarant across the street which was very good. Just the job for a few days in Florence, within walking distance of attractions. For me: Highly recommended

We were delighted with our stay in such an amazingly beautiful situation. To wake up and stare at a magnificent mural on the ceiling was unique. The bathroom was spacious, modern, fully equipped & tastefully decorated . The staff were charming, polite and could not do enough to help us. If I were going to be critical my only real criticism would...

Probably the key to this place is that it is worthwhile to pay the extra to get one of the suites. They are beautiful (we stayed in Cerere with all the Frescoes, absolutely stunning!)and so welcoming after a long day sightseeing in Florence. Cerere has a bath as well as a separate shower and this was especially welcome to be...

Sept 2005-wonderful stay. Very clean, great ambiance. Having spent 17 years in the hotel industry with companies such as Marriott and Hilton I found the Plazzo Galletti great. Samuele. owner, was somewhat friendly, but not outgoing, may have been language. I reserved my room directly via the internet with no problem, make sure to communicate arrival time. Since this is...

We stayed 6 nights at the Palazzo Galletti in September, 2005. We spent 3 nights in Giove and 3 nights in Cerere, the only two suites at this lovely B&B (only 9 rooms in all). Both suites were fabulous! The hand-painted walls and ceilings (from the early 1800's) were amazing. Sleeping in Cerere is like sleeping in the Louvre. Palazzo...

Palazzo Galletti is a very nice little hotel. It is on the second floor of an old Florentine Palace and consists of only nine guest rooms. Be warned that there is no lift, and you will need to carry your bags up to the lobby. Still, a very minor inconvenience for what is ultimately a very quaint and affordable hotel...

We were in Florence for 6 days so I thought it would be wise to stay in 2 different hotels/BB. First 3 days we stayed at Antica Torre Tornabuoini (which is a really nice place) and the last 3 days we stayed at Palazzo Galletti. The place is nicely decorated and the owners paid meticulous attention to the details. This...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
