We LOVED the Hotel Europa! Miriam and Gassim were wonderful hosts and treated us like family. They were so friendly, helpful, and kind that we did not want to leave! The staff at this hotel will direct you in every aspect of your stay from finding your way around town, to helping you return your rental car (lol-Miriam), to helping... More

We stayed at this small hotel on a last minutes notice. We were recommended this hotel from another hotel that we previously stayed at. (We took that as a good sign) This hotel is owned and family managed. We can't stress enough the graciousness and courtesy we were given. Smiles all around and our comfort was an evident priority of... More

My wife, 21 month old and I stayed at the Europa for 3 nights in early April and were overwhelmed by how wonderful the hotel staff were. Their recommendations for where to eat were very good. They were very helpful and pointed us in the right direction when we had questiosn. Our room was nicely decorated, much bigger than we... More

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in April 2006. We found it very nice, just as described here. Gassim and Miriam were very friendly and helpful; Gassim remembered our first names from the very beginning. Their suggestions on shops and restaurants were very good. We had a suite the first night, and because the suites were full, a... More

My wife and I stayed here at the start of March; we can confirm everything that has been said about this hotel. If you want a comfortable, relaxing, central base to explore Florence this is a fantastic choice. We stayed in a suite, more a large room, but clean, spacious and excellent value. The location is spot on with the... More

The Europa certainly lived up to all our good expectations (having seen the reviews on this site). It's close to everything; clean and quiet; and best of all the staff are the friendliest in Florence. We asked them for advice on which restaurants to go to, and each time the advice given was flawless - it really made our stay... More

Our family of 4 with 2 adult-sized teenagers stayed here for 4 nights. We were initially given a room on the second floor, but were upgraded to a larger room on the first floor when we found that the first room was definitely too small. Agree with all the previous comments about the staff (they even charged our kids' iPods... More

Hotel Europa is a two star hotel, but don't let that deter you. I stayed on the suite floor, that has virturally silent rooms (you can only hear birds in the morning), and the whole room is decorated in the same hues, including the hand-painted closet, headboard of the bed, and desk. The room itself was quite spacious as was... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
