Our family had a wonderful stay at Hotel Davanzati! We stayed 4 nights and everything was perfect. In fact, once we arrived we extended our stay and cancelled our next hotel. The staff was warm, friendly, and very helpful! The location is within walking distance to all major sights in Florence, which was very convenient. The room was clean and...

I have stayed in Florence numerous times but Hotel Davanzati was the first for its warm reception and professionalism. As soon as we arrived we both felt relaxed and at home. Our room was lovely and the attention to detail was excellent. The owners recommended and booked dinner for myself and friend in a nearby trattoria which was excellent. The...

This was my first visit to Florence, and it was a terrific experience in great part because of the Hotel Davanzati. Fabrizio and Tommaso and the staff were welcoming, warm, and helpful. The room and bath were perfectly appointed, quiet, and comfortable. The many extras included Internet access, free DVD use, and a nifty "happy hour" each evening. The hotel...

We couldn't ask for a better location or friendlier place to stay. Tommaso and Fabrizio were extraordinarily helpful with all of our travel needs. The in room laptop is a bonus that I've never seen elsewhere. If you want a small, comfortable, and friendly hotel; you can't do better.

Can't say enough about this hotel! Super clean, outstanding location, nightly reception, use of laptop/dvd/playstation in the room, comfy beds and pillows. Tomasso and Fabrizio are outstanding hosts and are able to answer any question. The only drawback is for those who may have trouble getting up the stairs to the elevator (but don't worry about your luggage they'll help...

If you stay anywhere else, it could only be because you couldn't get in here. Just stop looking for a place to stay in Florence and stay HERE. Great location, a laptop and free wireless in your room (who gives you that?!), slippers, nice shower/bathroom and bed, great breakfast. GREAT staff too, very helpful with anything you need, even bar...

We arrived at Hotel Davanzati during the daily "Happy Hour". With lights dimmed, candles glowing, sultry music throbbing from the bar, and a sexy man at the front desk, I wondered just what kind of place we'd gotten ourselves into. Tommaso, the man at the front desk, welcomed us warmly and enthusiastically by name, and seeing my reaction to what...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

“Room 103 junior suite quirky layout, but very comfortable and large. Facing street, some noise in early am hours even with windows closed.... but was short duration, didn't go on all evening. Wonderful shower, no bathtub; separate toilet/sink area.”
